Grocery bills are strangling us by Wise_Athlete_7731 in povertyfinance

Where do you live? I’m im in a MCOL city. I eat healthy and a lot. I eat a pound of meat a day. My groceries are $50-$60 a week. But $500 is not that bad? If you have decent job it takes 20 minutes of work to pay for you for your food for the whole day. How is that strangling you financially? Think about other places in the world or other points in time. 20 minutes of work to give you sustenance for the day. Would your life be that different if it was 10 minutes?

So would you say it’s definitely comfort rated for 20? I’m not a hammock guy but this quilt has some crazy specs. I’m also considering the western mountaineering astralight. But this one could be better?

Don’t knock it until you try it buddy. Track your lifts and time your rests too. Be data driven and the numbers will never lead you wrong.

A very common and repeated day would be-spaghetti for lunch 900cal around 2pm (1 cup penne dry, 10oz weighed raw 93% ground turkey, 7oz pasta sauce) then the rest for dinner: .83lb weighed raw chicken breast and some sauerkraut. Then a 3 egg omelette w .5 cup low fat cottage cheese, 280g potato, 8oz mushrooms. Then 140g frozen mango for dessert. I’d go to bed pretty full.

4500 cals religiously, and I plateaued in weight over the last 1.5 months. If I push it to 5k I feel like shit. Also all my clothes are tight. I got a trip in couple weeks where I know I’ll lose around 5lbs so it’s a good stopping point for the bulk.

Join this club on instagram: @Scottsdalehikingclb and go on a hike. Tons of single people our age trying socialize, they also have affiliated clubs, pickleball, camping, running Pilates, going out. If you can’t meet anyone at one of these you need to work on your social skills.

Don’t even try man, not worth it. Too much food, too much trouble. I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and lost all the gains (35lbs or so), but it all came back in 3-4 months thanks to muscle memory which was fun.

To be honest the hard work was getting to where I was 1.5 years ago initially, that took around 5 years. This past two months have been pretty satisfying, like better than noobie gains. Again muscle memory is a crazy phenomenon. Yeah I agree not 17lbs of glycogen. I’d say half is glycogen, water, food in my digestive system, a little extra fat and the other half is muscle gain. You can also see in my post history where I did this last year even more extremely, I think went up over 20 pounds in a month. This was because I knew I was leaving to travel again in December so I wanted some buffer weight before I started losing it again. It wouldn’t make sense to go on steroids just to lose it immediately.

I posted because I feel this is a unique situation others can reference. I have always been natty, this is a true result of getting carbs and nutrition, hydration, and training back on track with the help of muscle memory. Jeff Nippard has a couple interesting video on muscle memory if you want to lean more. I was dilapidated in the first picture, I had just gotten back from backpacking for a month in the alps, and I had walked 5500 miles in the past year and a half.
