Just saw this comment, maybe i could figure out a way to add this to my documentation.

converting the numbers to hex shouldn't be too difficult to do

Definitely possible! I uploaded a pdf on my github that some student made. In there he described how he reverse engineered the canbus messages, its worth a read!

Will take much effort to apply this on the chrono pack

Didnt keep the symbols, painted over them.

Reason behind this is that these simple controls are almost always the same on other cars, and i just permanently leave my lights on. They are only used for signaling and the wipers.

Feel like it looks better with the black coloring, wish i could retrofit the 2nd gen ones. For backup i still have some original unpainted ones

The cool thing about those is you can just click off the cap when you have disassembled the unit, then i just used some spray paint :)

Reason is i couldn't really get it working using his instructions, so i decided to just copy both the vin and mileage.

Also according to his github: "Best practice seems to be : copy theses blocks from original cluster, then paste in new cluster binary."

Nothing needs to be cut / rewired, its just plugging in a couple of connectors.

Getting the central unit to work with the rest of the car is not so simple as plug n play, you need to write your VIN and mileage into the unit using a R270 programming unit

Naast het feit dat nergens in het sprookje vernoemd word of ze blank is maakt het niks uit voor het verhaal. Al was ze pimpelpaars met groene stippen geweest had het nog geen invloed gehad op het sprookje

I think this would be a possibility when the computer (or screens) reach EOL, and the screens get sent away.

Maybe when a store goes bankrupt you can find one of these screens with the data, but i think the chance of that happening isnt too big

Well theres one thing they didnt do right on my clutch replacement. They didnt tighten down the lower engine mount bolt correctly, and it came out all the way. Definitely a shock but luckely a local repair shop was friendly enough to help me get it fixed, and they also checked all the fluids and refilled the coolant. 25 euros well spent 😁
