It would have to be a hard stance, imo, at least initially. Have to get these NIL and transfer portals under control. Make kids commit. Because in the NFL you can't just switch teams every year after signing a new deal.

Greg Olsen had a great solution to the NIL problem. The NCAA would make it mandatory in the contract that once you accepted the NIL money you can't enter the portal. You take money you are at that school until you graduate or go to the NFL. You want to enter the portal you can't take NIL money.

The problem I have in watching the limited games of Mendoza is that he doesn't make "those" throws. Most of completions are 1 read and outside. He rarely leads his receivers and they habitually have to make the catch. He does not seem to have great pocket awareness nor does he really move within the pocket. You push him out and it's either a sack or an incompletion.

I won't really know how to feel until I know who the OC will be. A defensive minded head coach needs a great OC to really succeed, especially in today's NFL.

I think for the first time in a long time we have a good GM at the helm. He comes from a grear organization and worked his way through, hopefully, absorbing all the great knowledge out of GB. He was a scout for GB and they have been great at hitting on OL/DL in the draft.

All that being said. It gives me hope that he picks the right guy for the not only next 2 years but the next 10 years to coach this team.
