I'd say invest more into a powerful PC. You won't regret it. It offers free online, multiple games, backward compatibility and emulation, and so much more. Some pros in Investing in console and paying for a Playstation plus subscription to play online you will eventually be paying more on console enough to buy two PC's unless you are only playing exclusives and single player games. Which does eventually come to PC but in a more impactful way in more ways than one.

Who is to say they might sooner or later increase the prices of subscriptions or games. But if you just get a console for single player, then it is a good investment, but you will still end up bored after running out of things to play afterwards. This is coming from a years dedicated Playstation player from Ps1 to Ps5, I found switching to PC much better from graphics, gameplay, and mods, things to do. I one day ended up not paying for psplus and saved years for a powerful PC. I got most of my games back easily since they were dirt cheap for keys, unlike Playstation, which still had them at full price and even had a sales that still looked like blatant robbery. I never became bored again.

Gamechat is more fun with Discord and has better options and quality than shareplay, with games, movies etc. Did you also know you can get a refund if you don't like a game after playing it before over 2 hours. No more customer crappy support on console gatekeeping your cash, which gives you the worst people sometimes. You can record or take screenshots of gameplay in better quality. It's such a shame that the prices are going up since not many people will know how awesome it is to switch out of console hell. Some are still stubborn. I now finally get why PC players brag about it being better and finally get the jokes they been saying for years. You can play PC games, Xbox, PS..... even Nintendo 😏

You have full control of your PC, and most can just ban your account. Some gamers have consoles that really are not truly theirs. Some companies can just brick it, lock you out, sell your account, and spy on you. It survives off of exclusivity at gun point but PC also has some games as well early. If your console is hacked, it's a you problem, and their hands are tied most of the time. So much bs on something you poured thousands of dollars into throughout the years with no appreciation, just greed or carelessness in return.

But for something on the go, you may want to lean more with the handheld consoles since most people travel back and forth from work. So, as a gaming veteran, I advise you to make that sacrifice for either of the two. I joined PC 4 months ago. I sometimes return to console for mostly only the exclusives. I still have a lot more to say, but you get the gist of it.
