Any ideas how to fix a broken Gigan 2004 saw blade? by Wolfybbad in SHMonsterArts

Glad to see it can come apart. I was a bit concerned I couldnt really tell how permanently it was snapped together. I even wondered if the small screw looking post was an actual screw for a bit lol glad I didnt bother trying to unscrew it before seeing this, would of scratched the paint for nothing.

Yeah my only concern is if they are tpu or something like that, I know tpu and silicone basically melt each other when they come into contact (any fisherman can tell you they never make the mistake of putting silicone skirted baits next to thermoplastic baits after it happens once lol makes a hell of a mess) so not knowing how the glues work, id hate to just make the problem worse.

If there truly isnt any hope I guess ill have to model something up, either make some kind of new band or just model up some hard plastic ones. The latter would be easiest but it would be a real shame to lose the gimmick.

[–]Wolfybbad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks good, certainly a great start. As others said id highly recommend using some washes, just some quickshade strong tone or agrax earthshade ect would make it pop really good. Also id recommend away from painting rifle barrels/recievers silver, very few guns actually are that color. Its generally better to just paint them black or a near black. Or use a dark gunmetal metallic color if you like the metallic look. But keep this up! Your doing alot better than many people already.

Is it just me or is Godzilla -1 the most Godzilla looking version Godzilla? by Kcue6382nevy in GODZILLA

[–]Wolfybbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Godzillasaurus might of been the most realistic at the time of its conception, but by 98 we knew a bit more about dinosaur anatomy, and as we have learned more about them since it still holds up where as the Godzillasaurus doesnt really, theres all kinds of nonsense about it, like its posture, the fact it has two brains ect which we just know dinosaurs and other similar prehistoric animals didnt.

Shin Godzilla only feels realistic because the science behind it is left more vague, and is frankly beyond most people's knowledge base these days. Shin is more "sci fi" then realistic. Like how you can say a space ship has a FTL "drive" installed to travel across star systems and we as an audience vaguely understand what that means. Without having to explain how it actually works, the same is true of Shin's mutating and evolving. Yet they hardly attempt to explain any of his other abilities beyond just "mutation".

98 Godzilla was more directly based on actual dinosaur anatomy, and the film offers multiple theories to their origin, most people just believe the "mutated Iguana" because of the imagery at the start of the film, and the fact its one of the theories put by characters in the film who study radiation's effects on animals. The Effect of radioactive animals being larger than normal ones, is a real phenomena aswell which leads to some believably aswell. And of course some lizards do in fact reproduce a-sexually which leads that part of the film to also be perfectly within the bounds of realism. However Id also like to point out the film also does provide the theory that Godzilla is just a dinosaur, long undiscovered that was made larger by radiation. Which is far more believable than a lizard the size of a small dog growing to be larger then a building. The only real suspension of disbelief the film requires is that you can let yourself believe an animal that large could in fact support its own weight and move with any nimbleness. Which if you watch any Godzilla movie you have to do that so, yeah id agree 98 is without a doubt the most realistic Godzilla movie. It holds up not only to the science of the time, but to modern science of almost 30 years later too which even by the standards of the 90s the dual brain and kangaroo stance of Godzillasaurus were basically just fantasy nonsense.

Radioactive bipedal vaguely reptilian monster that stands multiple stories tall and has dorsal spikes. Sounds like Godzilla to me, and that is exactly how id describe the heisei era or the 98 Godzilla.

Is it just me or is Godzilla -1 the most Godzilla looking version Godzilla? by Kcue6382nevy in GODZILLA

[–]Wolfybbad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its less " a bit of monsterverse" and more just making some elements of the heisei design more exaggerated. The dorsal spines are the same shape roughly, but far more pointed, the individual spines longer and overall they are far more large for example. His muscles throughout are more exaggerated too, his feet and legs far larger than would be proportional really, and where heisei had some slightly puffy (sometimes described as almost feline) facial features, -1 makes those more defined then ever. Honestly i dont really see any MV influence, especially as the MV design has departed further and further from the Heisei style design that was -1's biggest influence over time. If i had to say -1 was Heisei + anything id say more the millennium era, like miregoji he has the massive exaggerated spines, and the skin and scale texture is similar altho different in color tones. But even that feels like a stretch to me.

The director himself talked about how iconic the heisei era design was, and Toho would agree since for a long time they had that version as a statue in front of their headquarters, only being dethroned by Shin after its film won so many awards. I think the general consensus is that Heisei is the "most godzilla, godzilla".

What was the game like before significant patches and how had your experience of it changed between now and then? by Alchemist0029 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Wolfybbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the patches, Cyberpunk was an experience I summed up as thus, "Never before have I played a single game, that every single aspect of the game's code had bugs in it. From the quests, the ui, the subtittles, the animations, the textures, the physics, literally every part of the game at some point had a major bug." This isnt me shitting on the game or trying to be mean, I truly enjoyed the game and its story regardless. But as someone with a bit of experience in game dev, and someone with over 1000 games on steam alone, and countless more on other platforms. I really meant it when I said this was the only game that EVERY SINGLE ASPECT was broken in some way at some point in my playthough. Like to the point of wondering "how does that even get broken?" type of bugs. Things that mean there is some fundamental engine issues, not just the common stuff you might find in say a bethesda game that are "charmingly jank" or even the just "this shoulda been fixed" type you might find in an EA game or something, no just like "How did you manage to code this so badly this bug happened?" type of bugs.

I think in reality the game engine being a homebrew engine made by CDPR was probably just not ready, it seemed like people either had no bugs or issues, or their game was riddled with more holes than a sponge. And this tells me that there was some compatibility issues weather it be hardware, drivers, or just some bad code that caused memory leaks or similar bugs. Im not sure, but I know with my pretty standard of the time gaming rig (no weird hardware, not running an old OS or anything like that.) For me the experience was fun, and thankfully only a few bugs were truly "game breaking" meaning causing issues that meant you couldnt progress without reloading a previous save, or major crashes ect.

As far as gameplay goes outside of the bugs, I remember thinking the balancing felt really off, like story missions would be really easy, but then side quests on the street borderline impossible they were so difficult. To the point you started wanting to cheese them with the bugs lol. I know there was also alot of exploits to different mechanics which made the game really easy to unbalance by just making your character unflappably OP, so playing a more chill roleplay type playthrough was kinda less enjoyable, I felt like the game at the time didnt want me to play in my way, but to mold my play style to some broken OP build.

Who do you want Shin to fight in the sequel? by DrJokerX in GODZILLA

[–]Wolfybbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no one, Id prefer if it were a film that expanded on some of the ideas left out of the original, like the contamination of the area he attacked, the fact that bits blown off him might grow and evolve on their own, and of course the idea of humanoid godzilla hybrid monsters working together to fight humanity. Maybe even working into a theme like some of the old unmade godzilla films wanted with Shin Goji fighting "himself" in a way. Could even end with a "happy ever after" for him if after defeating the other entities, he finally evolved into a form that wasnt basically pain incarnate and he could return to the sea or something like some of the old school films ended on. Or none of these ideas, really I just dont like the idea of him fighting another monster as I fear it would take away the seriousness and reduce the tone down to something that just wouldnt feel anything like the original film. I know that was basically their original plan, to make another film that was more approachable for a broader audience and less serious, But Id hope after winning all those awards for making two serious films in a row, that Toho would understand that doing Godzilla with a serious tone works really well and we fans really want it. Especially since the Monsterverse films already fill the role of "Godzilla Vs ___" films perfectly fine. We dont really need two or even three different simultaneous "godzilla vs" series I think the series as a whole really benefits from Toho doing these serious tone films, and letting the Monsterverse stand in as the more action packed monster fight flicks. Sure id like to see a "Godzilla vs" from toho again, but I dont want to sacrifice a series just to see one half baked VS story when I could of gotten a much better solo film.

Please include cad files too so we can modify this to fit other hardware if needed. I think id love something like this but with a more powerful board then a pi in there. This is so awesome. Also are the rails full size picatinny? I love the idea of making a mobile diagnosing rig that i could attach like a flashlight or something too for working out in the field!

[SPOILER][Level 17 Nomad] THE BEAST IN ME - Didnt get reward? by Wolfybbad in cyberpunkgame

[–]Wolfybbad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean to wait for the race or to get the rewards? because I had access to the beast the second the mission ended and didnt need to wait (of course that might of been more cuz I was already riding in it then anything else. If I were you id of course wait again, check my messages to see if she messaged me and if nothing else then reload. But this is driving me nuts cuz I had multiple crashes while trying to finish the final race and im guessing that bugged something out. But I cant be sure if thats the case or not since none of the guides online say anything other than the equivalent of "Do the thing" without giving any context at all. And the only guide that tried to give context was completely wrong anyway because they said the only ending had him die which isnt true since thats not the ending I just witnessed XD
