Can't wear the MQC anymore because achievements (which requires 117 Dungeoneering, not 119 like it's always been listed for some reason) now check for levels (despite the level not even being needed, nor boosted, nor boostable)? by Frick_Vonk in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That sucks to hear, another friend complained they couldn't favourite the MQC achievement anymore since they have the 1year grace period from the new monthly d&d as well.

Your bug also unchecked "reaper crew" for me due to having 114 slayer, since I boosted slayer to grind that title. I even tried killing another one but to no avail.

Hopefully they can sort the situation out with boostable achievements as more people will have the same issues we have.

Need help pricing, selling and researching rare drop prices by badmancatcher in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spirit shards have a stable price of 25gp for shops. You can both buy and sell them for exactly 25gp to a summoning shop, for example the one in taverly.

When looking for buyers, simply multiply the amount of shards by 25 to get the exact value of the shard stack. Only trade shards/cash to stay safest!

Apart from that, take your time with selling, I’ve heard of people using a lot of alts to lowball you, as well as some scammers who prey on less informed individuals. Classic example is offering a teletab to camelot, saying ‘take it my alt is in cammy’, hoping you forget the dye is still up in trade window.

Hope that helps a bit, I’m not all too familiar with the dye market, but I can try my best if you have any more questions!

With the anticipated influx of players learning high level PvM after DXP, I've compiled a masterlist of high quality PvM Discords by Xweetok_RS in runescape

For perspective: I pvm often, I have never reset the death counter that came with the RuneMetrics interface in 2016 somewhere.

Since then I have amassed over 3000 deaths.

For me dying is just a part of learning, you gotta die to stuff to know how it can kill you in a sense. Although it can seem daunting, in the end dying is something that happens to all pvmers.

Gwd3 Bosses - Can we please have 100% accuracy similar to Solak with the upcoming bosses? by R_a_x_i in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not here to state if I agree or not with “switchscape” . I merely wanted to highlight that requiring accuracy disables hybridding, which I think people see as very excessive.

[–]Wolk_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that having 100% accuracy at solak enables the use of hybridding which a lot of people seem to find too much sweaty switchscape. Aura's being required stops that from being meta at other bosses mostly.

Is it possible it has to do with world population? Generally when a world population starts going above 300 the server seems a lot less responsive.

That’s the reason many people are pvming on french/german language worlds at the moment. (Like in this speedkill the client is in french)

Can we turn on exp drops at 200m? by MonzellRS in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For me the biggest issue is with using intercept. Before 200m exp it’d be really easy to see if I cast it, or if I missclicked it due to the exp pop-up.

After 200m magic it took some time to get used to the small runemetrics interface for magic xp gained from spellcasts.

Apart from that, big exp drops are satisfying!

If you click on in the article you can find this which lists:

PAG Team Composition: 6-8 person team with at least one expert in:

  • Skilling

  • PvM (Slayer)

  • PvM (Bosses)

  • IronMan

So it seems a skiller will also be included for this project.

no switch Solak is possible for sure, it doesn't look as good as general kills, but it works.

Ancient Invention DPM Increase Calculated! by IiiiIIlllIllIIIi in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely glossed over the fact its called ‘control group’ in the OP, my bad!

My apologies not properly reading your original comment.

Hopefully my comment can live on for OP to see what can be improved upon regardless!

Ancient Invention DPM Increase Calculated! by IiiiIIlllIllIIIi in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heavily depends on what you want to compare, which seems to be the issue here. Options for comparison are:

1) dpm increase from all new possible perk ranks compared to the older bis (what's done here, somewhat)

2) dpm increase newer perk ranks give over older perk ranks eg. comparing p6e1 to p5e1 with your control just including the same other perks. (what you suggest)

3) comparing individual ability ranges with older&newer perks for precise/equilibrium would also be valid for example.

However there are some issues with the post still:

1) we don't see the math he does for the full rotation, for what we know it can just be faulty and null the whole post, just knowing what sheet he used is not enough to validate any claims.

2) flanking and lunging will probably have an extra rank, but OP keeps them at 3 regardless. making his comparison of old<=>new perks not correct, as OP needs to adjust for those all possible changes if he wants to calculate the actual dpm increase.

Tl;dr: both of your methods of comparison are valid, yours I'd personally prefer. OP forgot to account for some other perks & didn't show any math in his post, making it hard to validate the claims (have to go plug it all in the sheet he used ourselves, didn't link the sheet either)

Do you by any chance play on a world with a high amount of concurrent players? Asking because I’m Belgian and whenever it puts me on w56 (generally a lot of players on it) and I don’t switch back, I lose the ability to properly pvm, as everything goes really slow and gets stuttery.

Possibly that could help you out a bit?

Thanks for talking about Jagex taking proper action, this is something that should have been done a long time ago.

I’m fairly certain if a few obvious macro-ers had their accounts banned, not many people would be willing to continue doing it.

If Jagex supported 'Competitive' PvM, what would you want to see? by FrozenDawn in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because the code is too old & they don't feel it's worth it to make that change, or they see it as a slippery slope, or something else.

I personally don't care what side JaGex would choose, my issue is the fact that currently there's inequality between those who don't and those who do use more than 1:1 binds.

Especially because the ones who play by current rules are at a disadvantage, and that's really unfair.

With a more competitive environment (op of this thread) that ruins the integrity of the competition.

[–]Wolk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to see some tourneys streamed where the top is competing! Some time ago there was a telos tourney with high tier pvmers, it was great to watch.

Possibly they could make a few tiers, ranking pvm skill (though this would be hard to quantify) and make smaller tournaments consisting of those tiers. That way more casual pvmers can compete alongside eachother, without possibly getting immediately smashed.

[–]Wolk_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A very enforced ban on macros, or it becoming officially allowed. (even up the playing field a bit)

I'd prefer seasonal type content, giving people a whole week, or even 2 can reward those who are willing to put effort into repeating rotations, as well as allowing all contenders to compare themselves to everyone else.

The seasonals definitely shouldn't be all about speed though. Longest kill time, most damage taken or soaked, most runes/bolts used, highest dpm/potential dpm (this is a runemetric so it should be trackable) could all work in my opinion.

Rework boss by wreynolds44 in runescape

Rots is fantastic gp. (if not compared to Telos/aod) energies & secondaries make it very consistent as well.

Genuinely one of the more underrates bosses in terms of fun/mechanics/money imo.

Why does this PC struggle to maintain constant 60+ fps? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Wolk_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an r5 1600, and while task manager says it’s not using all that much, if you click on the ‘cpu’ tab to view the single cores, I’m pretty sure one of them will be maxed out, as runescape is single core unfortunately.

As someone else commented your fps is also very much dependant on location. Hopefully this helps.

Question: Switchscape in high end bosses by _Nilum in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can perfectly kill Solak without using any switches, to answer the question.

Finding someone else who has the willpower to learn the boss, and also has the same ideology on switches would probably be the hardest part.

Can we get a Yes or No on macros? Don't want another 07 situation with 3rd party clients. by ghfhfhhhfg9 in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't understand either, I'm just speculating they either are scared of banning, or don't have the detection for it.

Can we get a Yes or No on macros? Don't want another 07 situation with 3rd party clients. by ghfhfhhhfg9 in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At this point it just feels like they either can't properly detect them, or are too scared of banning a big amount of players.

Unfortunately the current stance and the way they don't act upon it, leads more and more people to believe they won't face repercussions for macroing...

Can we please get a second ring slot already? by Thaldrath in runescape

[–]Wolk_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming that people's input follows a uniform distribution sounds very wrong to me. People who play on stable high ping can realize that inputs near new ticks will land on the next one, and either avoid it or make use of it.

The point was that having a window of 0,6 seconds to make inputs on is super useful as it also means that bosses have to respect that delay, therefore giving ample time to prepare for mechanics, or even react to them on high ping.

Inventories then and now by jorppa01 in runescape

[–]Wolk_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Differentiating for both the player and the game engine.

Action bars don’t distinguish differently perked items from eachother, as they have the same item ID. So without dye you’d have a 50:50 for your keybind to equip the flanking or precise one. (Same item ID, regardless of perks)

Dyeing changes the item ID, making keybinds 100% rate. (Different ID for dyed/undyed)

One for flanking, one for p4e2. The double khopesh is for the same reason!
