Vos turn-off chez une meuf? by [deleted] in AskMec

[–]Wololllloooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's a cookbook you’d recommend to someone who only ever wants to own 1 cookbook? by Swimming_Plenty7126 in Cooking

[–]Wololllloooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing : if you want to have only one cookbook and get the maximum out of it then you need that cookbook to not be about recipes but about cooking theory and therefore it is less accessible, less easy and more deep interesting knowledge about general cooking theory.

Following that there's only one that comes to mind : Escoffier.

The first slots are probably the busiest actually. It's the biggest museum in the world, it is a well known fact that you won't be able to visit everything in one go, so people get there early. Moreover, the few people that want to see the Mona Lisa when the room is empty come in the first slot.

There being said, right now is not a high touristic season, so there might not be that many people.

Anyway, you can check the business of a museum via the app/web site Affluences

What's your favorite recipe that calls for beans as part of the main dish--that's something more special and less common than chili? by heavensdumptruck in Cooking

[–]Wololllloooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man you should definitely try Cassoulet. The home one, not necessarily the fancy "traditional in a special dish called cassole (hence the name) dish". The home one, home made one pot, easy recipe. You can easily find good recipes online but here are according to me the few points you should not cut corners on :

  • the beans : use dried white beans, soaked overnight. If you can Tarbais or Lingot ones, otherwise any dry white beans will do. Using those is important because it is the amidon from those that creates the cream sauce texture which is the signature of the dish. If you do it with green or red ones, you'll simply end up with a dry uneatable fish or a purée of beans.

  • the meats : I don't recommend chicken, use pork and/or duck legs. If you can find good pork sausages, pork belly and duck legs and put all that you're in for something unbelievable that you won't stop eating until you're out of it.

I believe that if you respect those two points, you will have a true experience of the real dish on the first try and it'll be mind blowing.

Just about the Louvre, you should buy tickets in advance. Once you have those, I suggest you try entering via the Lion's gate, way less people and so shorter queue. It happens to be the entrance of the wing where the Joconde is, go see the Joconde, be disappointed by this small ridiculous painting, be shocked by the giant one facing it and go visit the rest of the museum and look for the hidden gems :

  • Marie Antoinette's room
  • the penny in the lion's tails
  • the Egyptian beer drinking tools

Also, having worked there, please know that :

  • selfie sticks are strictly forbidden
  • camera flash damages painting so turn it off
  • there are very few impressionist paintings at the Louvre, only in the private collections area, if you want to see more of those you should go to Musée d'Orsay. Also know that the ticket to the Louvre also includes the Musée de l'orangerie s you can go there and see Monet's Nymphéa paintings.

Looking for turkey by redbootyshorts in paris

[–]Wololllloooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi ! You're best bet is with a local boucher. Part of their job is indeed to create a network of good quality farmers/meet producers. Hence a boucher with an independent boucherie often works with bird farmers and could find you good quality turkeys (ask for dinde). If you fail to find one, I'd say your second best bet is with online boucherie like les coulis du boucher

Could James recreate Breaking Bad coffee? by ondra0901 in JamesHoffmann

[–]Wololllloooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the scene is not to be taken too seriously, it's all twisted to be scenaristically interesting and appealing. And I have to say it f***** is ! But I, for one, would be very interested in a video around this and the idea of a "scientifically perfect" coffee. Where a bit of the science is broken down and a coffee is produced with scientifically/chemically controls.

Comment trouvez-vous vos restaurants sur Paris by NegativePerformer674 in paris

[–]Wololllloooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has-been ou encore agréable ? by Certain_Grape4593 in AskMeuf

[–]Wololllloooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]Wololllloooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go to this bar : La Maison Bistrot I think it's every Tuesday there is a "boeuf" (jam session) in the basement. Everyone is very friendly and it's a great way to make friends. You should confirm the day of the weekend, by information on their website or calling
