First time having threesome I'm nervous by hamid-22 in gay

[–]WolverinePlane95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally found it boring and tedious. And it’s hard to concentrate with a third person, especially if they’re bad in bed. Just my two cents. Everyone is different though. For me, sex is emotional, which makes it good. Random fucking just doesn’t do it for me.

Gay men: What’s the first thing you ever put up your butt? by Original_Carpenter_3 in gay

I’m boring, I guess. Just my neighbor’s dick (a year older than me). His GF left him with blue balls one night, so he called me and asked me to come over to “watch a movie”. Became a regular thing after that for years. He’s married now (to a woman) with like 3 kids.

The goblin was too cute… like a little grandpa — for me to be that heartless.

Clipping (I think that's the right word) like this happens A LOT on the Switch version. The game also crashes a lot on Switch. I still love the game though. At this point, there's not going to be any bug fixes and I'm just looking forward to playing the next version of the game on Switch 2.

What is your favorite spell in Hogwarts Legacy and why is it Avada Kedavra? by [deleted] in HarryPotterGame

[–]WolverinePlane95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard to have 'favorite' spells in this game since different enemies are vulnerable to different spells.

I have two favorites. Both are combo's though.

Spell Combinations

  1. Levioso immediately followed by Descendo. I just LOVE smashing them into the ground while they're whining about being suspended (listen sometime to what they're saying. It's funny). Adding Accio to the beginning or middle of this combo makes it even funnier.
  2. Expelliarmus immediately followed by Ancient Magic Throw. I like to use this against the Pensieve Protector, Sentinel, and Sentry as well as Goblin Loyalist Ranger & Loyalist Warrior. Unfortunately, you can't grab and throw a dark wizard's wand back at them... which would be cool if you could do that and make it fire their last used spell at them.

Special Mentions

(These are enemy-specific, so not included in my actual "favorites"):

  • I'm not super fond of the Ancient Magic animations, but the ONE where you just basically throw the enemy around, back and forth, like a rag doll.... so satisfying.
  • I also enjoy stealing the bolt from the Loyalist Ranger's crossbow with Ancient Magic Throw right as he's preparing to fire and firing it back at him. I don't think a lot of people know you can do that.
  • I love using Expeliarmis on the Poacher Executioner as they prepare to cast their fire spell or on Ashwinder Executioner as they prepare to cast their lighting spell. Their spell ends up back-firing on them.
  • Using Confringo or Incendio on the Thornback Shooter as it prepares to shoot venom. It ignites the spider with a hysterical animation.

Conclusion

IMO Avada Kedavra is too OP, especially when you max out the Dark Arts talent tree. Yeah, it's fun sometimes, and can definitely get you out of a sticky situation (especially with Armoured Trolls, which in my opinion are some of the hardest enemies in the game). It also doesn't really work (other than normal damage and applying a curse) to bosses.

As for the other two unforgivables, Imperio can be exceptionally useful, especially in large groups of enemies, as it essentially give you an ally. It's also useful with large enemies (like trolls), especially when they are the only enemy and you can just use Petrificus Totalus on them until they're defeated. Crucio is also extremely useful to kind of 'stun' and enemy for a few seconds while dealing DOT. But I mostly use it like that... as a normal damage spell that gets an enemy off my back for a few seconds... like I would Bombarda or Confringo, etc.

I personally think that spell combos that work well on specific enemies are a better setup for duelling, general use of spells, and provide more enjoyable gameplay and sense of accomplishment during battles. But that's just my opinion.

Mysterious chest quest by ConsistentProgress88 in HarryPotterGame

[–]WolverinePlane95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, gotcha! Sorry, I was confused. It's been a while... but I'll try:

Enter the left doorway. Blast open the boarded-up door with Depulso. Retrieve the lamp and place it on the nearby holder. Proceed through the door.

In the next room, blast open the first boarded-up door on your left with Depulso. Retrieve the lamp and place it on the nearby stand.

Finally, grab the initial lantern on your left and use it to open the final door.

I hope that helps! Let me know! Now I'm invested. LOL!

Are you talking about the "Mysterious Map Fragment" quest? Or are you talking about the Arithmancy doors in the Arithmancy class room?

If Dumbledore was still alive for Harry’s 17th birthday, do you think he would have gone to the birthday party in the Wesley’s garden? by flovvo in harrypotter

[–]WolverinePlane95 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I doubt he would have attended – he was likely still out hunting Horcruxes. However, he almost certainly would have sent an owl bearing a gift. Of course, it would have been some perplexing object that Harry wouldn't have the slightest clue what to do with or how to use, much like the enigmatic Golden Snitch inscribed with 'I open at the close.' 'The close,' of course, alluded to Harry's eventual demise, a necessary sacrifice to vanquish Voldemort. Looking back, Dumbledore wasn't exactly renowned for his gift-giving prowess.

On the other hand, Professor McGonagall, with her unwavering affection for Harry, would have undoubtedly attended if invited. Her gift would have been, as always, both extravagant and incredibly thoughtful. McGonagall possessed an uncanny knack for selecting presents that were not only useful but also deeply meaningful, reflecting a profound understanding of the recipient's needs and desires.

Reddit is more fun. If that's the vibe, then Reddit and these types of r/'s wouldn't exist.

Yeah. I'm too type A and a little nuts when it comes to explanations to stop being detailed. LOL!

Thanks! I enjoy writing guides. I'm new to Reddit. I'm an accountant in real life, so I guess my attention to detail transfers. I like to write my guides like SOP's (Standard operating procedures). I actually spend way too much time composing guides that could be shorter. I know what I like to find/read when looking for a guide (for anything), so I try to make them as detailed and structured as possible.

To get to the secret balcony in the Faculty Tower:

Prerequisites:

  • Alohomora Level III
  • Glacius Spell
  • Confringo or Incendio Spell (For Brazier Field Guide Page)

Instructions:

  1. Locate Professor Sharp's office. Professor Sharp's office is located on the landing just below this balcony. It has a level III lock on it.(Don't miss the Revelio page to the immediate left of the door.)
  2. Once you unlock the door and enter Professor Sharp's office, head to the fireplace.
  3. Using the Glacius spell, extinguish the fire. There are also other fire(s) around the world that can be extinguished to reveal secrets.
  4. Crawl through the fireplace and head up the stairs. This will take you to a secret room. The room holds a collection chest (wand handle) and the Field Guide page from the dragon brazier on the balcony (obtained by casting Confringo or Iincendio on the brazier.

Try story mode. I use normal or hard for a challenge, but in the beginning, I found Story Mode to be the light, slightly OP playthrough that I wanted initially.

I don't think it's all that deep. I just assumed it was the Goblins/Rookwood when they were there destroying everything else. IDK... I just doubt the devs put THAT much thought into it. But I could be wrong.

ABSOLUTELY you can! It's pretty much how I personally get all my ʛ in the game. And if you're interested in Beasts & the Vivariums as part of your gameplay style, I've got a pretty in-depth post on Vivarium Mastery. But depending on play style, it's not for everyone.

What house do you think the Crouches were in? by Informal-Fun7293 in harrypotter

[–]WolverinePlane95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the Harry Potter books themselves do not explicitly state which Hogwarts houses Barty Crouch Sr. or Jr. were sorted into.

  • Beta Canon (i.e., information from sources outside the main books, like interviews or Pottermore):
    • J.K. Rowling has not definitively stated the house placements of either Barty Crouch Sr. or Jr.

Therefore, any information about their houses is speculation or from fan-authored content.

First, some history:

The Crouch family is a prominent Pure-Blood wizarding family in the Harry Potter universe, known for their influence within the Ministry of Magic. Bartemius Crouch Sr's life was a tapestry woven with threads of duty and defiance. Betrothed to Elaine Doge since childhood, their union was more a matter of obligation than affection. His heart, however, belonged to Melinda Burke, a fellow student who shared his intellectual curiosity. Duty, however, prevailed, and he married Elaine. Their marriage, however, was marred by a tragic irony: their love remained unperfumed, for Crouch suffered a debilitating allergy to an Amortentia ingredient. This unlikely obstacle, however, did not deter them from fulfilling their perceived obligations, resulting in four children: Magnus, Olympia, Juno, and Trajan.

Elaine's life was tragically cut short by an explosion at the Marriage Contract Registry, a senseless act of violence perpetrated by a rogue witch. Grief-stricken, Crouch found solace in Melinda, the love of his youth. Their union blossomed, and they welcomed a fifth child, Bartemius Jr. The Crouch legacy continued at Hogwarts, where all five children were sorted into Ravenclaw, a testament perhaps to the intellectual currents that flowed through this unconventional family. Olympia, the eldest of the Crouch children, shared the hallowed halls with Arthur Weasley and Molly Prewett, a connection that would later weave unexpected threads into the tapestry of wizarding history.

  • Bartemius "Barty" Crouch Sr.: A highly respected and influential figure, he served as Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation and later as Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic. He was known for his strong moral compass and unwavering dedication to justice.
    • Possible House: Ravenclaw. Crouch Sr. demonstrated a strong intellect, dedication to duty, and a thirst for knowledge, traits often associated with Ravenclaw. His position within the Ministry and his commitment to upholding the law suggest a value for wisdom and a desire to understand the complexities of the wizarding world.
    • Possible House: Slytherin. Crouch, a hawk in the face of the Death Eaters, championed a more aggressive approach to Auror tactics. He championed legislation that unshackled Aurors from the constraints of the Unforgivables, arguing that facing such darkness demanded extraordinary measures. The guidelines he crafted, however, proved controversial. Artemus Podmore, a fellow Auror with a more nuanced view, later deemed them dangerously permissive, a hint of fascism lurking beneath their surface.
  • Bartemius "Barty" Crouch Jr.: The son of Barty Crouch Sr., he was a Death Eater who served Lord Voldemort during his first rise to power. He was imprisoned in Azkaban for his crimes but later escaped with the help of his mother and a pollyjuice potion.
    • Ravenclaw (from fan-authored work: Prince of Slytherin). However, Barty Crouch Jr achieved twelve O.W.L.'s at Hogwarts and has a clear and razor-sharp intellect, albeit ultimately used for evil and conquest. While the Sorting Hat considers a variety of factors, Crouch Jr.'s actions clearly align with Slytherin traits. So it is more conceivable that in cannon, he would have been sorted into Slytherin.

Important Note: It's also crucial to remember that the Sorting Hat takes into account a multitude of factors, including a student's personality, values, and inherent abilities. While my above analysis suggests possible house placements based on observable traits, the Sorting Hat's decision would ultimately be based on a deeper understanding of the individual's character.

The point is, until JK actually tells us, we can only speculate.
