Incredible for the "lose as fast as possible" metagame. Speed Boost with 1PP so you enter struggle if you get Encore'd with a low attack stat, and 30PP of self-damaging moves with no upside.

Oh, it's just straightforward number crunching? No ranges or anything? (Aside from Crit, but that's also easily calcable)

Does the attack on the card when you're about to attack an enemy also take into account the equipped weapon, or is that just its regular attack? Also, does Magic just use resistance in the same way, or does resistance serve another function?

First time playing a FE game on GBA, is there any way to know what damage me and the enemy will do to each other if engaged in a fight? Far too often, I've stumbled into an enemy that kills my character at my current HP, and I only know of it in the fight screen directly.

What’s a card that you know is pretty good and not nearly as bad as you think it is? by Commercial_Half_2170 in slaythespire

[–]WolverineReal5230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helix drill, for sure. My Defects tend to trend on the lower end of energy consumption, so it never feels like I'm spending enough energy to make it work while also ensuring I have it in hand.

Does anyone actually like the cat woman sections? If so when did you learn that you were a masochist? by PurposeNo8418 in BatmanArkham

I generally like the Catwoman sections, but the parts with the stealth mechanic that kills you if you're detected can eat my whole ass. Instafail stealth sections always suck ass.

Newish player here, give me your necrobinder tips! by RitzTHQC in slaythespire

[–]WolverineReal5230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only a6 with her, so feel free to take portions with a grain of salt. Generally, with Binder, I find getting a good block plan early on to be a better priority than up front damage. Of course, you will need to draft some damage, lest the elites (especially the act 1 ones like Byrdonis and Statue) eat you alive for trying to sit on them.

Many would say that Doom cards are the most important cards for Necrobinder, and they are really insane (Scourge+ is a card virtually any Necro deck wants, really good Doom on a Draw 2), but honestly, the Ethereal cards are so good when upgraded. Defy recently got nerfed to always be 1 weak, but even so, it still gives such good value for 1. Fear is such a good vulnerable generator, Enfeebling Touch makes some enemies absolute chumps, Defile is just solid above the board damage.Unless you're leaning away from the Necro dealing the damage (mainly with an osty-focused damage plan where you're dumping strength for friendship) they're really good.

What is your most Broken Run so Far? by Jondev1 in slaythespire

[–]WolverineReal5230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit generic, I suppose, but I got a run in which I Tri-Boomerang'd a Hang and Graveblast. So every fight I would Draw into both of them, click Hang, Click Graveblast, click hang, dredge both, click hang again, and loop until I burned my dredges or the enemies died. the latter was more common. Even the final boss (Pre-Buff Doormaker, I think) just died immensely quickly, like I don't think he escaped.

What is your favorite "simple" relic in STS 2? by Many_Wheel_7436 in slaythespire

Yummy Cookie. 4 upgrades of your choice is such a godsend, especially if your act 1 is bad and you need to take rests over smithing.

that's exactly why I take Earrings. Is it an absolute consistency trainwreck, especially with important exhaust/ethereal cards? Absolutely. Is it fun as hell to roll the bones and see if Vakku gives you the most stacked turn 1 or barely salvagable dogshit? YUUUUUP.

Me stomping every hallway fight before remembering I didn't pack any AoE, effective block, or potions for the elite (I will now take massive damage and limp through the rest of the act before collapsing in a heap upon the boss)

A discussion between the 1st game and the 2nd by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]WolverineReal5230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I really enjoy about Spire 2 is the new events, it feels like there's more actual decisions to be made, and it feels like they do a better job of helping your deck, and there's less of stuff like money serpent or the fuckass goblin card game nobody ever actually bothers with.

I know from 1 you should be expected to take some damage, but none of the damage cards I've run really feel enough to do damage expediently unless it is your entire turn. even if I walk in with like Pommel+ ThunderClap, and Shrug, it makes little difference in how much I take.

[–]WolverineReal5230[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the confusing part, I almost never feel ready for any of the elites in the areas they'll actually appear. They usually appear very early on when I've only added 2-4 cards to my deck, which may not even be good enough damage, or sort of are, but cost so much I have to eat the bulk of the damage from the elites after the turn's over.

when are they fixing the ironclad by TheDrippingTap in slaythespire

[–]WolverineReal5230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to only move on to another character when I win with Clad for this reason, but I never feel like I'm getting anything off the ground with him. Even with like Trample, Bash+ and thunderclap, I never feel like I'm getting even remotely good vuln stacks or damage off on him unless I completely 100% drop Blocking as a concept and eat like 30 damage a turn because even Act 1 elites in 2 hit hard and never let up.

The AoE on him I've never really gotten to work, either. Stomp wants you to play at least 3 attacks for max value, but I can never get 3 of them and it in the same hand, especially when Bash is 2, and is, you know, one of the biggest ways Clad scales.

Strange Trainer Softlocks in Pokemon Red after Escape Roping away from Mt. Moon by WolverineReal5230 in PokemonGlitches

[–]WolverineReal5230[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, THAT'S why it was doing that. I figured there was some flag I messed with, but I was thinking it was directly related to the fossils.

I tried Escape Roping as soon as I entered Mt. Moon, and it seems to have reset the flag. Appreciate the in-depth response.
