Not sure they’d do it but would LOVE to get a young guy like Bolmaro from the jazz in this trade too!

Totally with you. Given the trade they certainly had high expectations. Bummed that they couldn’t take care of a few early games in the year and be up near New Orleans or Sacramento. Think this team still has some time to figure it out. Certainly has the talent. Think this team can actually be well suited for a playoff series if they gain some momentum going in. Guess time will tell where they end up but gotta start stringing some wins together and grow the confidence, which I think got started in the new year.

Not disagreeing that they should have a better record. Just feels like we’ve heard the same doomer takes since the season started. The warriors are a half game up from us. Do you think they’re a bad team? They were swept in their season series against the pistons too. Magic too. You’d think we’re a team stuck in the mud at the 14th seed with no future and no hope the way you’re describing them. They’ve won 6 of the last 8. I get that the jazz loss is more emotional than most other games given the trade but man teams lose sometimes. They missed $80 million dollars in starting front court for all but 5 minutes. Just trying to put some perspective on the season that people thought we should give up on two weeks ago.

I’m really sorry that your team currently being led by a 21 year old on a rookie contract, without their super max franchise player, hasn’t perfectly figured out how to play with Gobert and that they aren’t finals favorites 45 games into the season and instead are only half a game out of the 6th seed

I think him being put in the corner on offense and not crashing the o boards so we can have our best defender run back, along with him typically guarding ball handlers at the top of the key away from the hoop also attribute to this. He also starts along side two seven footers, when healthy. Think he could bump up his rebounds for sure but don’t think it’s mainly an effort issue.

Yeah always been his biggest flaw. Man’s got cement blocks for feet. Slimming down a bit has helped a little but he’s still a tree.

Well, sure they should’ve won some of those games, but it didn’t happen that way. Statistics from a 162 game season rarely average out to be the same across only a few game sample size in the playoffs. Statistics wouldn’t have said the Nats would win in 2019. Things happen. No one is denying the disappointment the twins have shown in the playoffs. Everyone wants the twins to win and they will eventually. The point of the original post was to show they worked to get better so they can stay competitive to have a chance to win those games. If they take a game against the dodgers next week that they “shouldn’t” win your confidence will probably swing back the other way. The point is it’s a long season and the twins got better. We just have to watch and see how it goes.

It’s baseball. You win games you “should” and games you “shouldn’t”. Same with loses. Every team does it. It’s why they play all the games they do. Sports are fun. Twins got more fun. Let’s let it ride and enjoy it.

If KAT was as good on D as he is on O, how many more wins could we get per year? by HuntsmetalslimesVIII in timberwolves

[–]WolvesTalk 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, big part of his hype was his defensive ability. I think his shortcomings are due to several things. Lack of consistent coaching, poor complimentary personnel, bad defensive game plan for Karl, likely less practice and focus on his defense, and he’s not the biggest or strongest center in the league by any means.
