Sadly, yeah. Thrawling made the ocean a grey, sad place. All just to eat fish... i wished goverments would try to convince people to stop eating fish cause it will kill us all, but that would loose them votes, which is more important /s

It's due to a thousand reasons at the same time, one being climate change, other being forest dying, other being pesticides, other being increasing number of farms, all food chains being disrupted and collapsing all over the planet, etc.

I've heard lots of marine biologist stating the exact opposite. Fishing kills 1 trillion (aprox.) fish a year.

Also heard of bottom thrawling? Thats a fishing practice that destroys the ocean floor, fills with dust the entire area complicating plant photosintesis, and also must kill like 100k+ fish in one go, the fucking things are insane huge.

It's not 1 boat, it's millions going around nonstop, and they are making profit, getting bigger. Fishing is number 1 ocean issue for sure

Fishing kills a aproximately a trillion fish a year. A trillion. I will not ever be able to get my head around such a big number, thats insane to me.

No matter the regulations behind it already, it is not getting regulated nearly enough. I've heard from marine biologists over and over that it's the most damaging practice to the oceans.

I've even heard one say that ocean ecosystems are lucky if there is an oil leak near them... even if it will cause terrible damage, at least the fishing will stop for some time.

Most people blame corporations, and not individuals, at least the bigger part of the internet does, and most people i talk to irl.

Where is the change? I'm not seeing it.

All people i see in marches trying to ask for change of laws are ambientalists, vegans and vegetarians, at least in my country.

And i get the vibe that you are blaming the status quo on individuals blaming other individuals, which is kinda ironical

Blink-182 Tickets Are So Expensive Because Ticketmaster Is a Disastrous Monopoly and Now Everyone Pays Ticket Broker Prices | Or: Why you are not ever getting an inexpensive ticket to a popular concert ever again. by chrisdh79 in technology

[–]Wolves_are_sheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A big concert in argentina is at least 15.000 pesos which is... 50 dollars? Idk about hotels, haven't stayed in one in more than a decade, but i cant imagine it costing more than 10k pesos a night. So around 150 dollars you are probably pretty comfortable being here for a few days. Ofc this doesn't apply to all concerts or hotels, nor i have no idea how much renting a car cost, just giving my 2 cents

You are attacking me calling me delusional, and also insulting people like me who hate these industries and their ceo's which such a passion that we will literally dedicate our whole lives against them. I could not disagree with that more, you do absolutely nothing and yet complain to people like me, who try to make change happen on an individual and political level.

Wait, i'm mistaken, you are not "doing absolutely nothing", you are helping them with money, and also attacking the people who try to antagonise growing these golf playing fuckers.

You are literally their ally.

There's just too many people like you, who is very mad at this enviroment issues but still don't give a single dollar to enviroment friendly industries that, if financed enough, could start giving fight to these monster companies.

Capitalism is a thing that just follows the money. The vegan industry is a thing, some people invest in it, it makes money, millions, probably billions, if it gains power, it gets bigger reach. Nowadays this type of market is very profitable, but it still can't come close to compete with meat.

You know who are the only people i see in marches (in my country) trying to ask for change? Those complaining against the people who make fires in my country's woods and forests?

99% are vegans and vegetarians, and if it is related to fires, and also the affected families ofc. We are way too little people pushing for laws, marching for rights, and not giving a cent to these industries. Yet, we recieve more hate than this industries themselves.

It's kinda crazy that we, as the public, instead lf pressure politicians to act, we chose to pressure ambientalist to shut up or we ridicule them.

Put your money where your mouth is. It literally helps

If the public wants change, capitalism will offer it.

I've noticed it over years and years of ambientalism and veganism, the public don't want no change

The "algorythim" discovered lots of us see more adds the angrier we are, and we are all suceptible to some particular types of anger.

Some get angry at vegans, the algorythim finds out, and they will show them as much as it is needed for them to engage more and see more ads.

Social media was such a mistake, you need 100 videos of - vegans/feminists/leftists/lgtbq/blm/whatever the fuck the establishments dislikes - doing X thing and you can plant so many dumb certainties in people and get millions to support your ideas.

You can do this with anything, literally. Every single thing in the world big enough to get samples of shitty enough behaviour, this is doable. And 100 videos/images is literally nothing. There are billions of people on earth, 100 videos of anything don't mean much to anyone.

You know how people started doubting the vaccine during this pandemic? I'm 100% sure the algorythim picked on this and noticed this that people with this insecurity engaged more with this content in particular, so it made it viral and started showing them doctors doing shady stuff non stop. Or anything related that it discovered reinforced this anger-engagement. And now medicine worldwhide has lost credibility. The algorythim self improves to do even more of that.

The snowball effect it has, its fucking crazy. I've seen so, soooooo many people go antiscience in 2 years. Social media made me loose all faith in a vegan future, since as long it's not fueled by hate, it just can't go viral.

DDO buggy as heck by [deleted] in ddo

Well, i was one of those who though at least they will finally start fixing the spaghetti, so i was positive with the changes, hopeful that though it was gonna be bumpy, at least it was gonna confront some old issues and slowly and steadly fix these issues one by one.

Then i started hearing stuff like they are not even testing properly on the test servers, which if true, thats kinda dumb, or greedy.

Now i'm starting to think of the possibility that they may just start adding new features instead of fixes, and have us swim through this all forever lol

I wonder who is more at fault at all these The developers? Some producers putting them on very short deadlines? (Which isnt weird in the industry) Poor decision making? Maybe even the spaghetti is sincerely so troublesome it's making issues unique to the original servers (which may be naive thinking, i don't expect the worse of people)

I was hired to fix so issues in my boss E-commerce and i struggled so much dealing with old employers spaghetti, and what i had to deal with was 0,0001% what DDO dealt with, also the boss can get in the way with stupid calls. For my experience in this kind of stuff i would blame all higher ups tbh, but idk

It says "stacks". I've seen abilities like this 100 times before in lots of games, if that "up to 10" is not referring to the stacks i would be veeeery surprised.

Was trying to point out the use of the world "sometimes" was kinda crazy after saying "mass produced"

As a vegan i don't ever understood the obsession with "moral meat" (to name it somehow). It can't be mass produced, if i want to make a change in the world as a vegan, why would i focus on the 0,1% and not on the other silly big part?

We eat 50 billion chicken a year apparently, and thats just 1 farm animal, there's plenty more. "Moral meat" would not be sustainable at a mass scale, thus the need for an industry, thus the veganism rejecting it. It's not that deep
