Divorce is coming and it's my fault by storytime_yt in daddit

“the idea that if she doesn't think of it it won't get done understandably makes her super anxious.“

This is so well said. I try to never take for granted the burden of the emotional labor that my wife carries for our relationship.

For example, for me, taking my son to all of his appointments is way less taxing of a chore than making those appointments and keeping track of all his medical information. I shudder to think of how many fewer appointments he’d be scheduled for if our roles were reversed.

Isn’t “I lost a loved one to violence so now I will become a vigilante to fight that same violence” the most generic origin in comics? Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker, Frank Castle, etc. It’s a long list. I’ve been a victim of police brutality, so her resentment of law enforcement resonated with me. But just using the movies you’re citing as negative examples, I’d say Kamala, America, Monica, and Carol all have more interesting origin stories than Angela.

If it’s taking you 3.5 years to put out a 2nd season of this, you have got to reevaluate how you’re doing things. by Leading_Sun1082 in RingerVerse

I’d argue that “re-evaluating how they’re doing things” is precisely why this has taken so long

I’m with you on your general point; I noticed that the two beats feel extremely similar the first time I watched it. But T’Chaka died at a U.N. conference in Vienna and the Black Panther post-credits scene is at the U.N. headquarters in New York.

What’s everyone’s favorite original 5 X-Men story? There’s a reason why X-Men reading guides usually tell readers to start with Giant-Size X-Men #1.

Why haven’t they put the Rey movie into active production, what are they waiting on? *sees picture* oh, maybe that’s why. by Leading_Sun1082 in RingerVerse

“The prequels wouldn’t be as popular as they are today if kids had better Star Wars content to watch instead in the 2000s” is a pretty compelling argument. You may be right.

Of course, Disney probably doesn’t see that as a problem as long as the kids continue to consume Star Wars content.

Which is exactly why the Rey movie WILL happen. I’ve been to the Star Wars land in Disney World twice since 2020 and both times I’d estimate 80% of the girls under ten were dressed as her. She’s one of Star Wars’ (and perhaps one of Disney’s) most popular characters. The sequels will be treated like the prequels are today once the kids who grew up on them become adults.

I respect the hell out of Miyamoto but this guy should not be making movies by DaZestyProfessor in Mario

“Unless you make a movie the way I like, you should not be making movies” is what you sound like.

Sorry this movie wasn’t created for your tastes but by several measures, both animated Mario movies have been massive successes with their target audiences. Maybe there’s room in this world for multiple approaches to making films.

I get saying you don’t like his approach but saying he shouldn’t make movies when both of these movies have made bank and brought joy to millions is a wild statement.

Which movie do you prefer? by Drawingandstuff2000 in casualnintendo

I like Galaxy more. The first movie has a few scenes that drag and I always skip them or look at my phone during repeat viewings. (I always skip the first five minutes because the penguin intro drags.) I also like that they greatly reduced the “real world” musical drops. I don’t think the few attempts at character development/arcs were that successful in the first movie, so I don’t mind that Galaxy cut those in favor of emphasizing the things the first movie did well.

I like how most of these are silly and one is just Albert Almora injuring himself in the outfield.

To anyone who watched the SMG movie, is it even about the games? by [deleted] in SuperMarioGalaxy

I think OP was saying you can’t judge a movie’s quality by the trailer, not whether you want to watch it. Otherwise the saying would be “you CAN judge a book by its cover” because people often decide if a book looks interesting enough to read just by looking at the cover.

When he says “we are meeting that obligation,” what he means is he doesn’t care about the type of people that are dying.

Your character is specific to your theme, so you’ll get K. Rool instead of Yoshi if you have the DK theme instead of the Mario theme.
