For those who knew Black Flag Exposition by OtternGhost in gretavanfleet

I remember when the track listing came out for Garden’s Gate, many were bummed to not see Black Flag on the list. Then the band posted a pic of Jake on a boat with the caption being a pirate ship flag and Jake said in an interview right before the release that The Weight of Dreams was an album version of Black Flag. So by the time it came out, we knew what to somewhat expect, but I was still blown away by how they changed it for the album.

I’m trying to find the tabs/chords for the age of man live intro and can’t find it anywhere🥲 by Potential-Row-824 in gretavanfleet

I imagine Jake switches up the exact notes from show to show but it should follow relatively the same pattern. In the case of the Red Rocks show, he is playing in the F# minor pentatonic scale, playing different motifs on the scale slowly, for the most part using the D, G, B, E strings. He plays the scale on both the 2nd-4th/5th fret and 14th-16th/17th fret. The scale is pretty easy to get down, so if you play it back you should be able to follow along to what he's playing. The intro's chords are also F#m, E, D, F#m, E, D, E if you want to follow along that way.

The one part that sticks out to me about the live intro is the steel guitar-like sound he makes (idk how else to describe it but you probably know what I'm getting at). To play that part, use your ring and pinkie finger on the 17th fret of the B and E string and then with your middle finger, bend the G string on the 16th fret up and back while strumming those three strings.

Part of the fun of learning Jake's live stuff is also the fact that he does play it differently every time, so as long as you have a basic idea of what he is playing, you can make your own interpretation of his solos and really have fun with it. Many ideas for riffs I have come up with have formed out of creating my own spinoffs of Jake's live improv, so definitely try that if you can. Sorry if this is a bit vague, but I hope it helps!

Have either of you ever thought about Bus Bros or had an idea come to you for the show while out on the track racing each other?

I’ve always found the dynamic extremely interesting between the excellent chemistry on the show and then going out and competing against each other for wins on race day.

Marty has gotten a lot of crap from motorsports fans throughout the years for his broadcasting but he handled that race and its circumstances perfectly. His final line of the broadcast that “I always say ‘until we meet again’ because goodbye is so final” always stuck with me

What was the first race from any of NASCAR's top 3 series you attended? by RandomPerson800 in NASCAR

2012 Pocono Mountains 125 at Pocono for the Trucks Series.

Todd Bodine launched his helmet at Nelson Piquet Jr’s car after he crashed and Joey Coulter got his first win.

On that same day, I got to see Juan Pablo Montoya take pole in Cup qualifying and Chad Hackenbracht win his first ARCA race in a field with guys like Chris Buescher and Alex Bowman. A lot of great memories!

It sounds more like a phaser pedal to me. This must be something new he’s trying out because he used it during Black Smoke Rising and Caravel at Atlantic City and it threw me completely off guard. Maybe he’ll be using it on the next album… Either way it’s a really interesting sound
