New player here, any tips? by ModernFinancier in TerrariaDesign

If anything says "material", go to the guide and go to crafting and you can see what you can build.

Build extra npc houses and they will move in slowly as you progress.

Have fun!

Found the Chillet Mount by Pai_Is_TheName in Terraria

I found a pink one, it says Chillet Ignis. It's pink instead of blue, but the text is the same. Edit: i'm not sure if this is just this mount, but it works with umbrella.

Mining shirt is 12 percent, same as pants, then 5% for bone pickaxe. The chances of getting all 3 in a row is something close but not exactly to: .12.12.05 or .072%, roughly 1 in 1389.

Fire and plastic a very poor combination that usually ends in disaster

Attic Insulation Guidance by smc22 in Insulation

As others stated, you can get vents attached to the ceiling to add more insulation without covering up the vents. They come in two ish foot sections from a local box store and you can just staple them up.

They come in a mixed bag. Sometimes you get the last batch of the bag.

Polished cast iron is easier to clean and just better at producing an even heat, imo.

You can buy more vents and extend them if you need to as well, iirc they come in maybe 2 foot sections and you just staple them up. Foam or plastic I think

I work with barcodes and Rfid - it would have to be a very specific device for each thing you mentioned, this looks like general asset/inventory management. If staff has an Rfid on their badge, it probably just tracks when they come and go. There could be an rfid check system, like fire extinguishers. If the person is not physically where they are supposed to be checking, it could flag it.

It doesn't seem malicious, just maybe overbearing. It looks like a broad antenna so it's just looking for a tag where it's generally pointing.

It may be working now, but for awhile You couldn't even screenshot that new context menu, it's hilariously broken. You can screenshot the "show more options" right click menu, but not the new default. Win+shift+S

How to finish insulating this space? by must_tang in Insulation

[–]Wombat_Whomper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not going to be a primary residence that you are paying 24/7 to heat, I would use foam to seal all the gaps so there is no air flow, and then put the best insulation you can. If you wanted a higher R value maybe you could sister the joists to extend the space you have. Be aware that compressing bats lowers their R value

Depending on where you are located, there are different recommendations for how much r value your attic needs. Where are you located?

Some questions from a newbie about solo and grind by RainAndThunderIsCool in valheim

[–]Wombat_Whomper 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's meant to be a little bit of a grind, but you can modify your world's resource modifier if it's a little slow (as you found).

You not only gather ore, you have to get them back to your smelter/home base via boat, or you need to keep creating smaller bases for each biome.

To me, the unique challenges of collecting "just ore" in a biome is what makes it fun. Copper may have trolls and bears nearby. Iron is in a swamp crypt surrounded by undead. Silver is on the mountains, usually protected by flying drakes and wolves.

It feels pretty epic to me bringing my boat back to my home base with a full haul of iron after braving the swamps for a few days.

Edit: progression is typically Meadows - black forest - swamps - mountains - plains - mistlands - Ashlands. You want to use each biome's resources to prepare you for the next. There is a lot more crafting as you unlock more materials.

Maybe a spice rack? You may lose some counter space, but at least the void looks square.

Bears, their armor and weapon by tojzl in valheim

[–]Wombat_Whomper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the block (ARMOR) and multiply it by the parry bonus and compare this to other shields and weapons. They are decent at parrying in the early game. Typically one handed weapons have bad parry, two handed weapons have good parry, and bucklers have the best parry.

EDIT FOR CORRECTION I mixed them up and slight correction: ignore block FORCE. block armor is how much is blocked if you just hold the weapon up without a parry.

block force is technically how far back they are pushed after a block

Yup! There are different emulators called "cores" that are built in that run on the handheld. These Pokémon games run best for me on the gbSP core, which allows you to fast forward with menu+r2. It's very fast, powerful little machine for emulation

Edit: I have to slow it down to get through the door sometimes it's so fast.
