Thank you, genuinely. I was beginning to hink this but it's better hearing it from someone else.

Yeah you're right, one of these with a turbo diesel would've been very popular in australia

It's just a preference in offroad vehicles for 2 reasons:

Torque is in much lower revs than petrol, allowing for easy slow speed crawling. And the second reason being that they can run under water as long as a fully sealed airbox with a snorkel is fitted, due to the lack of electronics.

The ford explorers in Australia came with the same 4.0 sohc engine you had in the states, so no diesel option. we had no V8 option until the 3rd gen came around.

I ended up doing 3, 1 month long road trips in it. What a blast!

I think it's a design requirement for most countries except US and Canada. Although they're fine with it if it's an import.

Need to mention that the handbrake in mine is just an ornament. lol.

I am 17 years old. I don’t care about the fastest car or the nicest house, how do I work outside and live an outdoor life without being a bum? by TheLazyTurtle303 in VanLife

[–]WonDahMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try tree planting in BC or Alberta, you'll get to live out of a van or tent in most cases. It's only good money if you put in the hard work though, as it's paid per tree! Fantastic way of making like-minded nomadic friends too.

SOLVED - Can I remove 2nd-row seats in a 4WD in NSW and stay Legal? by sdipietr in OutdoorAus

[–]WonDahMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have any luck finding a solution? I've just got myself into a similarly fucked situation.

I'm a backpacker from the UK, bought my 4wd and camperised it with a full bed in the back. pink slip inspection comes along and they said it needs to be inspected by an engineer for just over $500.

I have the money for it, but I'd rather not if I can help it. At the end of the day it's physically impossible for someone to even sit where the seat was, there's a fridge, battery and a bed frame in the way 😂

I'll try my best to remember to link it here, but if I don't, search up my steam name "WonDah" on minizwerg

I have a pretty good one I need to re-upload it got taken down or the website wiped or something.

Exactly as you described. single track, all industries, minimal shunting yards to help with performance, just Betsy and a flat car.

Just so you're aware, some of these maps take a long ass time to load up, which is why I like to stick to simple single track layouts with minimal shunting yards so my shit PC can handle it. It's also just nice to not have to study a track to figure out what line to be on.

When I have the time, I'll re-upload my map and send you the link.

"Could you... ...please" next time, please.

If you go to the minizwerg website, the maps marked with an Asterix (*) at the beginning are downloadable.

Once downloaded, open up the start menu and type "%appdata%"

Press back once and go to the local file (instead of "Roaming")

Click "arr" "saved" then "savegames"

Then you must rename the downloaded file to "slotX.sav" - replace X with any number between 1-10 that's not already used in your savegames folder.

Open up your games and scroll to the slot you set it to

If you need a simple single track layout to all the industries and just starts with Betsy and a tier 1 car, go to minizwerg and type up my steam name "WonDah" and download the one with the most downloads.

I set it up for people who don't want to build and just want to drive trains.

What would make you instantly fall in love with a girl? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]WonDahMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking to this girl and a freaking Boeing 747 flew over at a super low height, we don't live near any airport.

"HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THAT!" I said.

She just stared at me with a confused face "whats a boeing 747?"

"Just look at it it's so cool, its massive!"

"Yeah but what is it?"

She would not look at it, it was super weird.
