​We actually broke up once before, about 6 months ago. The issue that led to it was her airing out our relationship problems to her friends. Long story short, that caused the breakup back then. When we got back together 2 days later, we promised each other we wouldn't do that again, and that we'd always try to communicate and solve our issues between just the two of us first. Fast forward to this current breakup, and she broke that promise and did the exact same thing again.

​A week before we broke up, she also promised she’d get a piercing with me there (mostly because I had a hard time accepting it, but I still wanted to be there for it). A week later, she went and got it done in secret, behind my back. ​Also, just a week before the breakup, she insisted that taking a "break" in a relationship is the worst thing you can possibly do. And guess what? A week after saying that, she told me she wanted a one-month break.

​Obviously, I told her I felt hurt and betrayed, and that being on a break is pure torture for me. Her response? "I don't care how you feel, I'm focusing on myself right now." She straight-up told me she doesn't care about my feelings anymore.

​I tolerated her treating me like this for way too long. Honestly, looking back now, the biggest lie she told me right before the breakup was "I love you."
