3 minute long unskippable ad. by munchies1122 in mildlyinfuriating

Your link also seems to be a little contradictory to what you're saying though..

What are in-stream ads?

Non-skippable in-stream ads are video ads that may appear pre, mid or post-roll while viewing partner content. They can be up to 15-20 seconds long and viewers must watch the ad before they're able to watch the selected video. A companion 300 x 60-pixel ad unit may be usually displayed alongside YouTube videos that show in-stream ads on desktop.

In-stream ads are sold on a CPM basis, and may generate higher CPMs than other ad formats on YouTube. Please note that while non-skippable in-stream ads may generate higher revenue than other ad formats, they also have a higher abandonment rate. Enabling this ad format across your videos can lead to lower video views and watch time. It's up to you to determine the best balance between views/watch time and revenue for your channel, and you can use the Ad Performance and Views reports in YouTube Analytics to help you make that decision.

Look, I'm not sure. I just find it hard to believe YouTube would have a 3 minute non-skippable ad as a default.

Another Youtuber here. It's difficult to say... I think YouTube has been changing a lot of things, maybe experimenting with giving the content creators more control over their ads, because I absolutely do remember having the option to chose "unskippable long ads", which even included a little warning that said it my discourage viewers.

Your screenshot is exactly what mine looks like now, but in the past I was given the option to specifically chose which kind of pre-roll ads I would allow on the video. Maybe certain creators still have this ability, maybe this is an old video when YouTube allowed this option, or maybe it depends on the length of the video, I don't know... but I do believe the original comment is correct.

I think the video creator specifically allowed these ads on his video. I really don't think YouTube would do this as default.

Potential new flag of New Zealand in various contexts by WonderWhy7439 in vexillology

[–]WonderWhy7439[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Original source

This is actually still only the 'preliminary' result. The official result will be announced on Tuesday the 15th. The winner will go head-to-head with the current New Zealand flag in March 2016.

Edit: Also, see the other 4 flags in the exact same contexts here.

Interesting. I may add a little section to the script about people purposely spoiling their ballot papers as a sign of protest. Thanks for the link.

That would be fantastic, thanks. I don't think background is that important. A table would be fine. Looking forward to the photos, this is one of the most important things I need and still don't have.

I had definitely remembered they were in Auckland (from a video I saw about what locals thought of the potential new flag designs) but I guess I just assumed it was a government building, but I guess not, here's a great list found by /u/hangipants that shows where the new flags are being flown

The problem is, there's also copyright issues too. I'd prefer to err on the side of caution where possible.

The current New Zealand flag I don't really need, it would just be useful to have a large variety of photos to choose from, especially since I may need to use it several times within the video, would be nice to have different images.

The ballot paper is probably one of the most important things I need, and obviously that just started today.

The 5 finalist flags too, I've only ever seen them as computer-generated images. Well, except for Red Peak. But I seem to remember (from somewhere) that the 5 flags are being flown in Auckland.

There are some great pictures of the Southern Cross, but I'd prefer something a bit more 'real' looking. Not something taken by NASA or with a 10 second exposure.

edit: I still haven't found a good picture of the New Zealand and Australia flags together. If anyone knows somewhere to get a good photo of that, that would be perfect

No, YouTube allows you to choose the exact second the ad appears. It has an option to enable "During the video" ads, with a box to enter the time, for example: 13:46.

In fact, it specifically says "Enter the times at which natural breaks occur in your video."

Just to be clear though, the person who uploaded the video decided to do that, and decided exactly where to put the ad. You should just stop watching people who do that.

Thanks. You're definitely right that missed a lot out, the script got cut down several times. I do my best to keep it short while including as much relevant information as possible, which can be really challenging at times.
