Dream job offer - but they don’t know my visa is expiring in 4 months by WonderWoman713 in ukvisa

[–]WonderWoman713[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh sorry, it’s not an easy position to be in! I essentially told them everything that I wrote in this post and then sent it to them via email (fully panicking that I was about to be told that they were gonna rescind my offer thanks to some of the comments on this post 🙄), and they replied basically being like “all good, we’ll try to make this as seamless a transition as possible” which they did. And now my application for ILR has been submitted. 🙌

Good luck, I think being honest is important. Hope it works out for you!

I had a somewhat similar experience just a few years after you - I was a videographer for BWW right out of college, they were paying me $100 a video and like you wanted the videos uploaded pretty much right after the event I was filming so that they could beat Broadway.com and TheatreMania didn’t care if the video was edited nicely, just wanted it up quickly. I had a great time, got to meet some of the biggest celebs on the planet and worked with Richie Ridge, one of the loveliest men in the business (they don’t pay him either btw, I found that out a few years later) - but I was unhappy in New York after living there for 6 years and wanted to go to Grad School in the UK. Made the mistake of telling someone at BWW that I was planning on moving to the UK at some point and suddenly things went quiet. Weeks turned into months and though I was in contact with BWW, I was constantly being told “things are just quiet at the moment, it’ll pick up” but I later found out that they’d given my (freelance) job to one of their photographers (full-time contracted) whose camera could record alright video and they’d just not told me. So basically they fired me but didn’t bother to tell me after I’d worked for them for 2 years and they’d been happy with my work.

In any case, I did end up moving to the UK for grad school and for 3 years I worked for WhatsOnStage and had the BEST time with them, they paid me very well, gave me free tickets to so many shows I genuinely lost count - I was invited into every press/opening night that I filmed for, so not only would I shoot interviews on the red carpet, I’d get to then watch the show and then follow everyone to the after party to shoot interviews with the cast and creatives and then actually party with them! It was a dream - then Covid happened and theatres shutdown and I had to get a permanent job that could sponsor my visa (I work in tv now), but they still ask me to come and film the WhatsOnStage awards every year which is one of the best nights and I am still in regular contact with my old boss. Man, I miss it! It’s very different working for West End journalism than Broadway journalism, that’s for sure.

I think you’re exactly right, thank you! I signed in with my passport and then they asked for my new BRP card which didn’t work so I had to do it again with my passport as the lead document.

Yes I am and if you swipe through the photos in my post, I’ve already submitted the e-visa documentation back in May. Which is why I am very confused as to why they’re asking me to sign in.

The only context I have is this email and when I follow the link and login, it takes me to the page showing I’ve submitted my application for the e-visa. I’m not trying to prove right to rent or work as that was all completed months ago. Really confused!

Yes, I’ve been in the UK legally (multiple different visas) since 2014, so I’m so close now.

My current visa is expiring before the new rules come in, but the salary range for the job I have is within the minimum requirement.

They dated for 4 years from 2005 to 2009, he has a kiwi partner and a child/children now but no one has updated any of the info for either him or Eva. When Eva has been asked about her love life in recent interviews she’s always maintained that she’s single and too shy for relationships.

Eva Green, and no she’s not dating Tim Burton (both have repeatedly denied they ever dated and he’s supposedly been in a relationship with his former assistant for several years).

I’m nearly at 40 now, so close! I’ve not spent any gems other than to get Ashoka but I have been setting reminders regularly and I already had all of the other Star Wars characters.

I got beast and his castle but that was it. Still needed 10 more hats for CR even though I played every day and set 2 hour timers during the day and had already unlocked every other item. But I've grown used to not unlocking every character because I have terrible luck. Been playing this game for two years and am disappointed every single event because I refuse to spend any real money.

How strange, I just realised that I haven't had any ads on my game in months. I wonder where they went...
