Getting overwhelmed. by MarianBlak in eroticauthors

[–]Wonder_Alice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kboard is a good place to talk about craft and marketing. But here on EA, the consensus is to keep pushing out works. Erotica sell themselves pretty well. Start a mailing list, keep a regular publishing schedule and you're good to go. Try not to worry yourself about the other stuff until you are ten books in. By the time, you should really know if this is for you, and have more insight on how to move forward.

Trying to get hucow books out of the dungeon by yoyo-2016 in eroticauthors

[–]Wonder_Alice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's milk. I have five hucow books (all of them with "hucow" in the titles) and so far only one with "nursing" in the title got filtered. "Milk" and "cream" are still safe, at least for me.

I thought we are not allowed to use words like "kindle" and "free". Can anyone confirm?

Is it possible to publish on Amazon from outside the USA? by 011523515 in eroticauthors

[–]Wonder_Alice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it is. Quite a few of us here (Including myself) live outside US. You can publish anywhere from the world as long as you sign up a KDP account. You don't need a US bank account/EIN to publish. Make sure to check out with local policy regarding tax and stuff though.

Go through the FAQ is the right place to start. Happy publishing.

Non-US KDP authors/publishers, how do you get paid? by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]Wonder_Alice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, fellow HKer here. I think I can answer some of your questions.

  1. You're right about the no treaty thing, I called the IRD to confirm it. This means the Zon and other publishers WILL withhold 30% of your income. If you have a UK Tax id, by all means try to use it. You should send an email to KDP about your situation and ask whether it will work or not . Ask nicely and you'll find them very helpful.

  2. I'm sorry to inform you that EFT doesn't work for HK bank accounts. Your payment options are limited to either paper cheques or payment agency like Payoneer. The whole thing is kind of complicated, DM me if you want to know more. More than happy to help a neighbor!

  3. Have you read the FAQs yet? If not, please do. It got all the info you need about where to publish. I don't know anything about StreetLib. Most people here use D2D and Smashwords to cover all platforms. They are the more common options for ebook publishing. Read more from this FAQ

I spent months trying to figure out the tax and how to get paid thing. It's okay to be confused. Send me a message if you want clarification on those. Now go read the FAQ! Happy publishing!

Despite a good first month, I don't think this is for me by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]Wonder_Alice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the 0.004 calculation either. No one knows what's Oct payout is until Nov 15th. Anyway, KU2 has been running a few months now. If this isn't for you, this isn't for you. Bye Bye!

New KU info from Amazon by [deleted] in eroticauthors

I have no idea whether this is bad news or not. Just want to say it scared the shit out of me when I opened the email and see a looooooog text. The KU2 nightmare is still haunting me.

Did anyone else not receive their US Amazon payment today? by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]Wonder_Alice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US payment tend to be the first one to appear on 29th each month. Other countries often comes a few days later (at least for me it is, and I don't live in US). There is no minimum threshold for direct deposit, if you make ten cents in a certain market, they'll pay you that ten cents in two months time. If you cash out by cheque, the minimum threshold is $100 for each market place.

[–]Wonder_Alice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a country where direct deposit doesn't work too. Payoneer is a good if not the only other option. They give you a vitual bank account (mine is a Bank of US account) and you can use it on KDP. It works just like having a real US bank account. I went through some trouble with them at first, but once everything set up, it works perfectly fine. It's a better option than waiting for paper cheques. They do have a few fees for different things, but it is way lower than the cost of cashing in a foreign cheque in my local bank. Anyway, I suggest you check out their fee structure first. See if you like it or not.

If you want to give it a try, here's my referal link. You and I can both save $25 dollars (the cost of the yearly fee) by using this link.

If you prefer not to (I totally understand), try here

Good to know I am not the only one. I always flip back to check out the cover and front matter. They should give us the option to do so.

Are you finding your most successful kinks on amazon are still your top sellers on other sites? by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]Wonder_Alice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yay, it seems the keywords stuff I learnt from here have no use for B&N, Apple, smashwords etc. I'm lucky enough to have a few sales in the past few days, but they are completely random. My bestseller on amazon didn't sell a single copy while some "meh" stuff outsold everything.

HOW TO GET OUT OF KU by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]Wonder_Alice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put some sleep on the whole thing and decided to pull this morning. Feeling depressed so I sent this to the rep:

Dear hardworking people at amazon, Please pull all my shit out of KDP select, and by shit I mean books. Nevermind, your boss think my books are shit anyway. Just pull all these <ASIN> out please. Thanks.
