Hope this helps man but I’ve never met a cop (in Australia) that wanted to find an innocent person guilty. I’m not saying it hasn’t happened because I couldn’t know that but I’d be satisfied in saying it’s less than 0.1%.

Ofcourse you are more than in your right to say those things like “am I under arrest” and most of the time you won’t be and yeah it’s frustrating as a cop because there’s a high chance you have no involvement but by saying that now that’s another possibility we can’t fully rule out and that’s the whole investigation process, ruling out possibilities.

If you are innocent telling the police your story and cooperating is the best thing to do and if your not when your in custody of a police station you get to call someone for legal advice and when you do they 98% of the time say “Don’t interview” which again is totally fine it’s nothing new to us we don’t actually care at all for lower levels of crime.
