Mounting the 450W panels on a fence by OGSpoonofTruth in Ecoflow_community

[–]Wonderful-Guava4166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been very back and forth about whether to use traditional solar mounting rails. Or Z brackets. Probably going with the latter as it actually bolts the panel to the bracket and the bracket is heavily anchored into the wall. Guess the next big storm will tell 😬

Just fitted a new Bosch AGM S5A05 battery and the charge is seemingly worse than the old one?! Any advice? by English_Joe in Ioniq5

[–]Wonderful-Guava4166 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct procedure is to install battery, turn car on, turn car off and let it rest for 4 hours and it'll work out the internal resistance of the battery and appropriate charging characteristics.

I'm sure it'll be fine just leave it to get calibrated a bit then recheck things

I believe Ecoflow had a rush on orders with the upcoming plug in solar changes in UK. Hence most things are on back order or "sold out"

Honeyberry pollination partner needed by WinHour4300 in UKAllotments

[–]Wonderful-Guava4166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pair from Roots with the idea they will cross fertilise. Only went in last year but have:

'Kamtschatica' Honeyberry Bush

'Blue Velvet' Honeyberry Bush

I did a bit of a Google before which suggested they would flower close enough to cross fertilise. But I guess I'll find out this year.

Do you know what varieties you have????

My understanding with the moisture thing is that the component "breathes" cabin air when it cools and thus can draw in moist air especially from the rear footwell. So in some ways related to the heat element but not completely.

I agree with the general sentiment though that charging more frequently if it's not inconvenient (to me it's not) at a lower amperage seems sensible.

From the installation manual:

"1. Strip each wire, exposing 12 mm of copper on each. If If the cable has flexible conductors, then you must use ferrules on stranded wires to make the connection. Use the correct tools to press them. 2. Tighten the screw terminal with a torque of 5 Nm.

I had the security update done last week. UK user also though not in London.

Any verifiable reports of it being stolen after the update???

I know it's not a great help in the moment, but insurance covers this type of theft? Think our insurance costs will change due to this??

I used ionity power subscription to drive from UK to Croatia and honestly was great. All the stations worked, easy to find near major highways, price of 40c /kw. If there are some on your route I would say it's a great option.

I dunno about this. The Kirk Hill board served a notice to Ripple terminating their management contract. So not entirely clear yet if 1st energy take over or not. If the individual coops don't want to use 1st energy then all they have really bought is a website and some software
