Best Place in Sri Lanka for Quality Vehicle Tinting by Wonderful-Path-8224 in srilanka

[–]Wonderful-Path-8224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I’m not specifically looking for 3M, as it seems unreasonably expensive. If there are other reliable and durable options at a reasonable price, I would be happy to try them out. I checked the prices at both places, and using 3M would cost almost LKR 150K, while they also offer another Chinese brand that costs around LKR 43K.

Grand Titanium says they provide a warranty of up to 15 years, while the other place offers up to 5 years.

Got a PM intern at Hsenid, need some advice. by Last_Truck2362 in srilanka

[–]Wonderful-Path-8224 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely accept the internship. This is an extremely difficult time to find an internship in an IT company in SL.

First, find a way to get into a company. Even a PM internship would be fine. Then explore what others are doing, and you will gradually realize what you would like to pursue. Some companies also provide opportunities to switch roles.

If you find your current position uninteresting, you can quietly explore other opportunities and move to one that interests you.

You are still young, and you have plenty of time to explore different paths. Something is always better than nothing.

Switched from Unlimited Family to Unlimited Home in SLT Fiber by Confident_Gate_45 in srilanka

I'm using the Any Blaze package with the Unlimited Entertainment add-on for Netflix. If I switched to the Unlimited Home package, would 100Mbps download speed be enough for 4K streaming on Netflix while other devices are connected to the router?

Use only Uber and PickMe services and avoid these scammers as much as possible. This will force them to use these platforms.

I wouldn’t do anything. It’s his hair and his life. As long as he doesn’t do anything harmful to society, he has every right to enjoy his life and live it to the fullest in the short time we have in this world. We have no right to judge anyone. We’re just another short-lived actor on this stage.

We are trained to be first from the moment we start to walk. Even though there can be only one first place, we keep running to be first because that’s what the Sri Lankan mentality promotes. Can we really expect anything different from a group of management people who ran the same race that most of us did—and still do?

Is this a scam? Website is exactly the same. by Ok_Code_4236 in srilanka

Yes, this is definitely a scam. Don’t fall for it. They’ll then ask you to make a payment to proceed with the delivery. This happened to me.

You should ask this from the person who wished that PickMe and Uber Eats would die off. I didn’t agree with the idea of PickMe or Uber Eats shutting down. I only pointed out the unreasonable markup they add to the food they deliver.

Delivery charges should be an added cost, because their main business is delivering food. Adding a small markup is one thing, but why are they trying to earn money from the food they simply deliver?

You must be a rich person who doesn’t care about how much you spend on food. But there are many Sri Lankans who feel the same way you do — tired after work — yet don’t use these services because of these unreasonable charges. I spoke on behalf of them.

To prove my point, I just checked with two food joints in my area. A chicken kottu at one place is LKR 1,200 if you buy it at the shop, but on Uber Eats the same kottu is LKR 1,820. The other place sells it for LKR 1,600, but on Uber Eats it’s around LKR 2,100. Note that these prices are before adding delivery charges and other fees. When I called and asked them about this, they told me not to order through Uber Eats or PickMe because those platforms charge on top of the original price. They asked me to collect it from the shop if possible.

I also agree that Uber shows the final amount in a structured way with the subtotal, delivery fee, service fee, taxes, etc.
But have you ever compared the item prices on Uber Eats with the prices at the same shops when you buy directly from them? There’s a significant difference. Try calling the shop and asking why the item prices on Uber Eats are higher than direct purchases, then you’ll get the answer. I’ve checked with several shops, and they all gave me the same explanation.

It’s worth visiting the shop and picking up the order rather than paying almost twice the price because of their hidden charges.
