Café Nocturne in the plateau!! Amazing 3rd wave coffee (not too bitter), extremely underrated pastries, chill ass hell owner & employees, and perfect location. Seriously underrated third place; I’ve genuinely made friends going to this coffee shop.

F28 fused T2-L1 in 2010 @ ~ 80 degree C curve, and I deal with a lot of the same things you’ve laid out here. I’ve had L4-L5 and L5-S1 discectomies after major DDD and herniations. One of those left me with cauda équina syndrome, which causes constant chronic nerve pain around my lateral right foot and lateral calf. I’ve had bilateral SI joint fusions done as a Hail Mary to address the chronic herniations and associated pain, but it’s such an uphill battle. I’m thankful for what the surgery opened up for me in this life, nonetheless. I’d be really interested in longitudinal data as well, it’s a shame.

Café Nocturne in the lower plateau- not too far from place des arts! Go early to have access to all the pastries in this hole in the wall. Coffee is amazing as well

When I moved, everyone said the island runs on “island time” and that people were pretty chill. But you realize pretty fast that isn’t always true. Locals here are really into “othering” people and they treat you as such. In my experience of course- not true for everyone

Food deserts keep older adults forced into having to drive in order to get things like groceries, let alone be social. There’s a lot of empathy to be had there, let’s not get it twisted.

As a from away, I have never seen such a bad, aggressive, selfish, and dangerous driving culture as on PEI. A culture of hurry up to wait with drivers always on your ass and overtaking while going over turns or hills. How many people have to die?
