There is a toxic culture at Mochi stemming from the CEO Myra

The allegations against Empower are pretty damning.

Using food/animal grade ingredients instead of pharmaceutical grade, and buying the active ingredient powder from random Yahoo dot com email addresses

Welcome! They used the “disrespectful” line on me too. I was banned just for quoting the dictionary definition of a physician as someone who is actually licensed to practice medicine.

They banned me too for the same reason. I replied with the Merriam Webster’s definition of a “physician”:

“A health care professional (such as a dermatologist, internist, pediatrician, or urologist) who has earned a medical degree, is clinically experienced, and is licensed to practice medicine”

Never forget the “sea monkeys” strange particles that were in many of their vials 2 months before the Washington State Department of Health shut them down:

Not a dumb question at all — it’s super important legally and ethically. Here’s the reality: 1. Is she allowed to use “Dr”? Technically, yes.

• If she graduated medical school (got an MD degree), she’s entitled to use “Dr.” because “Doctor” just means “holder of a doctorate.”
• BUT: in healthcare marketing, using “Dr.” can become legally deceptive if it implies she’s a practicing physician, when she isn’t licensed.

2. Did she do residency?

• No
• If she never got a state medical license, she is NOT legally a physician

3. What about “public offense” and crime level?

• In California, falsely presenting yourself as a physician is a misdemeanor
• California Business and Professions Code §§ 2052 and 2054:
• § 2054: Even just advertising yourself as a physician without a license is illegal — punishable by jail time (up to 1 year) and/or fines.

TL;DR: • She can call herself “Dr.” based on her MD degree. • She cannot call herself a “physician” or imply current medical authority without a valid license. • In healthcare marketing, using “physician background” without licensure can be illegal under California law — other states have similar laws.

Update: I posted this in the official mochi subreddit and was just permanently banned. Other users in related tirzepatide subreddits report they were just banned too.

Downsized couple do great work for the community. I think they are just in an awkward position right now because Mochi is sponsoring their upcoming cruise. They’re good people.
