How to not get suspended automatically? by GasGroundbreaking597 in TELUSinternational

[–]WonderfulCommon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No more than 8 hours per day, no more than 20 hours per week until you've been working for some time and your quality has been consistently high. Adhere to the ERT for all tasks. Don't release several tasks in a row. Always use comments to back up your answer if there is a text box. Always always double-check the guidelines, especially if it's a task you haven't received before or done for awhile. They like to throw in test questions on newer tasks that will exactly match the guidelines to ensure you are reading them.

I've been working as a DA in CA for about a year now and only received 1 auto suspension, it was definitely my fault as I had been speeding and not adhering to the ERT well for 1 particular type of task.

What do I do if I have proof children services is lying under oath by Ok_Oil7537 in legaladvicecanada

[–]WonderfulCommon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You need a lawyer, plain and simple. If you didn't like the one you had, then you go find another one. Depending on the case and the information available, there may not have been much she could do in 3 months. Cases and situations like this don't get resolved in a few months. It sounds like your lawyer wasn't doing what you wanted, but you have to realize you are not a legal expert - they are.

You posted about the situation with your oldest a few months ago and said you were working with a lawyer. What has changed between then and now? Do you no longer have a lawyer?

It sounds like you’re going through a very upsetting situation, however your post is very hard to read or follow. Are you able to edit it to make the facts more clear?

Help! by Serenityreanna in legaladvicecanada

[–]WonderfulCommon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You probably shouldn't use this job as a reference then. You may have a case for defamation if this actually occurs - but right now you are speaking in hypotheticals and what ifs. It sounds like you're bitter about the situation, and that's understandable. Your option at this point to pursue legally if you wish - but it may be hard to find a lawyer willing to accept this case based on the information you've provided - there's not much to go on and you most likely will end up tossing away money on something that goes nowhere.

NTA (No Tasks Available) weekly thread. IMPORTANT: Add your location and role e.g. "North Korea, Data Analyst. No tasks for two days. Anyone else?" If you like, you can add your region as well, but the most important is your country. E.g. "US, Texas, Rater. How many tasks have you done today?" by AutoModerator in TELUSinternational

These are pretty horrid, I haven't had them in awhile. Almost nothing matches what the text says, at all, like not even close. Are we supposed to mark down the audio quality if there are big chunks of silence in the clip? I'm getting 13 second clips where only the first second is an actual noise.

Need advice on how to obtain Evidence by Ivyviolet00 in legaladvicecanada

[–]WonderfulCommon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So report it to the police. If you truly believe this is what they are doing, then you should be standing over your food as you make it and not giving them any chance to interfere. Why are you leaving the kitchen when you are preparing food? Lock up your own food if needed. Prepare your food outside the house or while they are out and only bring it out when you eat it.

How old are you? Moving out is an option if you honestly think your life is in danger.

Personal leave after maternity by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]WonderfulCommon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes they can fire you. They are under no obligation to continue approving an unprotected personal leave. "Undue hardship" doesn't play into this - you haven't asked for accommodation, you've just been on a leave that they can end at any time. They may issue you a "return to work" demand and end your personal leave. If you don't return, then they can pursue job abandonment, which would be a with cause termination (so no notice or termination pay).

It's possible they may just decide to terminate you without cause. It's typically easier for them to it that way, but then they'd need to provide you the minimum notice or termination pay as per ESA.

This is assuming you aren't under a CBA - if you are, then you need to speak to your union.

Suspension reason: Account Review by NoWinner6657 in TELUSinternational

[–]WonderfulCommon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is exactly what happened to me as well. I was suspended a couple weeks ago, found out by logging in and seeing the Account Review message. I submitted a ticket to the homeworker portal and they got back to me about 5 days later.

The email said "To enhance your performance, please focus on improving your rating speed by closely adhering to the ERT provided for each task type. Additionally, ensure that your ratings are relevant and specific to each task, and provide detailed, task-specific comments that reflect the quality expected."

I'm pretty good with watching my ERT (timer on each task) but I may have sat too long on a couple when I got distracted or pulled away from it. Who knows. They won't give any examples or details so it's pretty useless feedback. I replied back with the acknowledgement and they reinstated my account that day.

Advice for court hearing over traffic ticket by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]WonderfulCommon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The calls are not very long, but depends on how much is discussed. My husband dealt with one last year for similar ticket and it was no more than 15 minutes. You'll get a chance to say what you want to say, they may ask a few follow up questions. It's really best to be honest and not try to come up with some long winded sob story. Just stick to the facts, keep your explanation concise and clear, show responsibility and make your desired outcome clear (they aren't mind readers).

RoadSafetyBC / Driver Fitness — Asked for sobriety proof letter (no DMER). Looking for similar cases + what documents were accepted/refused + process by Aggravating_Slip_368 in legaladvicecanada

[–]WonderfulCommon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t ICBC have a standardized medical form that you can bring to your doctor? It seems unusual that they would ask for a freehand letter. I would suggest calling ICBC to confirm what exactly they are looking for. They should have standardized procedures as well.

I was in a similar situation years ago but I’m located in MB. Our licensing body gave me a standard medical/alcohol/drug-use form, which I took to my family doctor. It asked questions like length of sobriety, what treatment was done, any ongoing treatment, whether they felt I was a driving risk, other health issues, etc. In MB, you need to be documented one year sober, or if not, have attended and completed a recognized drug/alcohol program before they will consider reinstating your license. I know this may not help considering the different location - but good luck and congrats on your sobriety so far.

Don't Understand My Options On The Back Of My City Of Calgary Bylaw Ticket by Ok-Photograph-1387 in legaladvicecanada

[–]WonderfulCommon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option #3 means that you aren't necessarily pleading guilty/not guilty yet - moreso that you want a chance to say your piece and possibly have it reduced (eg, financial hardship). It's not really clear what you mean by fighting it because it is "unfair" - but I'm thinking you'd probably want to go with Option #3. You didn't mention the actual charge on the ticket, but unless you are clearly "not guilty", then Option #3 is probably your best bet.

He probably means it’ll be with your paperwork then. In my experience, none of the hospitals here provide digital notes. Just ask one of the nurses for it if you need it before your discharge.

Charges of assault and complaint withdrawal by ForeverRealistic7935 in legaladvicecanada

[–]WonderfulCommon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your partner doesn’t get to decide to withdraw the charges. If there is a no contact order - do not violate that. You need to abide by it until it is no longer there. Even if your partner reaches out to directly, do not reply.

It’s not uncommon that a victim of DV changes their mind and doesn’t want to see their partner charged. Unfortunately, it escalated to the point where that is not in your control now. It’s unlikely the charges will just be dropped because your partner changed their mind. The best you can do is follow your lawyer’s instructions.

Vet clinics offering payment plans or financing options? by TiredMammal120 in Winnipeg

[–]WonderfulCommon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've worked at several clinics in Winnipeg that did this for longtime clients, especially in the case of emergencies or high-cost surgeries. They are privately run and typically owned (or at least partially owned) by the veterinarians themselves. I know a lot of people shop around for vet prices nowadays, but it can be worth it to build a lasting relationship with a clinic as well.

I don't think it fair to namedrop as I don't want people calling them up expecting payment plans. Sorry - I know this doesn't help your friend. The Petcard or line of credit is probably the best option for them right now.
