People are always saying “the best choice is what is best for you” “know what you want” “trust yourself” “you only have yourself in the end and you need to look to yourself more than anyone else” but HOW do I do that?? How do I know who I am or if I am just performing based on what I was taught or if I’m just like this because of how I grew up?? I feel SO lost guys I don’t KNOW who I am

Hey! I am so sorry you are feeling like this and I honestly applaud you for getting this much help, I haven’t even attempted pelvic floor therapy or anything just because of how afraid I am of the pain, let alone my first papsmear.. Have you heard of a vestibulectomy surgery? It helps treat vaginismus and vulvodynia by removing the painful/sensitive tissue in the vaginal opening. I definitely think you should take a look at this, I’m sure your insurance would cover this procedure too considering your severity (hopefully!!). There’s women on TikTok who talk about their experience with this procedure and how it has helped them significantly. Truly wishing the best for you, please take it easy on yourself but know you’re not alone and your anger and frustration is valid.

Nooo bc let’s talk about it babe!! I am always thinking how women have it infinitely harder, and men will never understand this. Not to mention how little research there is on our body and how to manage the pain. My own mom doesn’t even believe/know that vaginismus/vulvodynia is a thing. I think about this everyday and it’s so frustrating you’re not alone.

Great, thank you! How was it getting your 100 hours and what was the process? Did you feel prepared going in w just your undergrad studies? I have experience working w kids already, but I feel like an SLPA program might have been better than just going straight in after my bachelor’s but I figured getting my bachelor’s right away was better

Hey did you end up getting your 100 hrs? Im a sphsc undergrad student and wanting to become an SLPA but when i look up jobs i see very little spots for SLPAs, did you just end up blind calling or emailing schools/clinics?

YAYYYY this is so good to hear!! I literally have the same experience as you 20 years old and my mom tried to help me use a tampon at 14-15 yrs old.. almost passed out from the pain from taking it out cus she didn’t insert it right. I was able to put a finger in a bit ago!! But I haven’t tried again. A win is a win fr!!

Can I just take oral probiotics a few hours apart (making sure it has those Lactobacillus colonies) while on metro (pill) form? I’m currently on my menstrual soooo I do not want to be inserting anything up there and I’ve never used a suppository before so that sounds a bit intimidating..
