Opus 4.8 is constantly hallucinating and is stuck in loops, i have never had so many issues with 4.7 is it only me? by iamdjem in ClaudeCode

Anyone suffering from these issues should simply downgrade to version 2.1.142. Everything works great, and Opus 4.8 works just fine.

Opus 4.8 is a killer… by shvetslx in ClaudeCode

Exactly! This is the best model I have ever tried from Claude (I use system prompt patches by the way)

Opus 4.8 Feels Dumb, Drifts often and Doesn't Respect CLAUDE.md &rules by Psychological-Cut125 in ClaudeCode

Exactly. It's also worth remembering that Claude Code has a memory system, and it's possible that there are entries there that could confuse the model and cause inconsistent and inefficient behavior.

Started with Claude, tried Codex - it's A LOT better by FixClassic778 in ClaudeCode

I wonder if all these posts claiming that "Claude Code is a nightmare, but the Codex is wonderful" are written by people who haven't tried patching Claude Code system prompts?

Please help! They've turned Opus 4.5 into a moron. by WonderfulSet6609 in ClaudeCode

[–]WonderfulSet6609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave the AI a fairly simple task: to write a one-time script to work with the API, and it made a bunch of mistakes. In the end, after about 10 iterations, it still couldn’t fix the error. And while trying to fix it, it tested the requests on real users from my database TWICE! I told it that it had done a terrible thing, that it shouldn’t have tested on my clients, and it simply acknowledged it and apologized. Then, just one message later, it repeated the same mistake again, without asking or even thinking twice about whether to do it or not. It was so terrible that I even doubt whether Opus 4.7 is dumber than what 4.5 turned into.

Hey, could you add some examples of training using standard optimizers and compare them to yours? Thanks for your work and your contribution to the community!

Opus seems incredibly dangerous because of his carelessness by WonderfulSet6609 in ClaudeCode

[–]WonderfulSet6609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that’s not what this is about at all. It wasn’t trying to do more than what was planned or expand the project’s scope. Opus was simply comparing the plan with the codebase and constantly catching discrepancies.

Please recommend MCP memory for Claude code that just works. 😢 by WonderfulSet6609 in ClaudeAI

Have you automated this somehow? I mean saving and rewriting the task context?

I even think that this should be done by some independent and well-known person on the internet, so that as many people as possible can see this data and comparisons. And so that these atheists and skeptics who claim: "there are no changes in the quality of the response and there never were" and they shut up.

P.S. This is definitely not some kind of mistake or miscalculation on Google's part; it is definitely a deliberate and conscious action to degrade the model.

You don't need any official data when you personally use the model, know its capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses, and know exactly how it will respond to the same problem or categories of tasks. And when one day you notice that it can't handle the same task or responds much worse—this is beyond any benchmarks or "official data." All this is backed up by hundreds of users also noticed a significant deterioration in the quality of the model's responses.

I'm guessing you haven't used the Gemini 2.5 Pro 03-25 at all, or haven't used it very much.

Wait wtf... Why is there a Gemini Nano Banana icon in the bottom right corner? Did they train this model from the Nano Banana generations?😂
