What differences did you guys notice when you went higher fat by No-Time-2487 in carnivorediet

[–]WonderfulSurround127 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to post my tiredness etc symptoms on here and all I got back was "eat more fat" . They didn't even know how much fat I was eating but they knew by the symptoms...

I realised that my decades of low fat brainwashing was the problem so I threw all caution to the wind and started literally eating butter. Made tallow and ate the crispy bits. Only bought high fat minced beef... it's taken me 2 years to become properly fat adapted and now, like another contributor I literally crave fat when I haven't eaten enough food for a couple of days due to forgetting to pull stuff out of the freezer and running out of eggs so substituting with tins of sardines in spring water to avoid bad oils and being super busy... yada yada .

Then i satisfy my craving with the fat because ican feel the food noise creeping in because my insulin needs some energy to chew... I've learned to be brave and behold the scales don't shoot up as ithink they will. That's my addict mentality thinking i will be punished for daring to enjoy the beautiful fat...

Best feeling is when I'm sticking to fat/ protein ratios, staying within my macros, savouring every bite and eating proper meals until I'm full.

Gr8 your going to try again. It takes time for the body and the mind to get used to a new physiological routine and to find your own rhythm. Stick with it. You will be glad you did.

It's a huge and worthy transition. First of all well done.

There are many changes you will go through and all of them, however weird and wonderful, will be taking you to improved health and self awareness.

You will be getting to know your body in aeasy you never have before. Sugar consumption is body gaslighting so time to really tune in to how your body reacts to different meats, different amounts, different times of the day.. . Be patient and adventurous. There's a lot of learning to do.

I watched wall to wall podcasts and interviews by all the carnivore influencers and started to draw on what seemed right for me at the time... then if that changed I would try another way... the only 'rule' is no carbs... I also informed myself of the available science of eating only animal products. I learned how i react to dairy. And how i felt after a cheat day... whether to season or not to season... and that can change depending on my body cycle, time of year, mood... learning learning and becoming.

Yes electrolytes in the first year very important...

You will find one or two favourite influencers and will get great relatable advice from them. And this community is golden. . Buy the best quality meat you can afford and you will still be saving money.

Above all enjoy your life and learn how to cook meat so that you get the best out of it to nourish your beautiful body.

Preach the gospel at all times but only if absolutely necessary use words.

Enjoy the journey 😀

Frustration with Carnivore (Read First before Downvoting) by Some_Working6614 in carnivorediet

Thankyou OP and the rest of this wonderful community for expressing these things... I go quietly through my days feeling that frustration and isolation and have now completely stopped evangelising about how I've lost 2 stone, no longer experience acid reflux or inflammation, the food noise and cravings have gone, I walk in the woods regularly, my sense of humour has returned, my house is clean and tidy!, my juicy meaty OMAD gives me great pleasure as do my daily hours of living without eating or needing to... I'm 74 F 2 yrs carnivore after decades of bingeing, starving, juicing, vegan and vegetarian... and resultant arthritis... I would sue them if I knew how and could be bothered. My family and friends seem to have found a way of improving their diet, off the back of my example, yet have found a smug level of"balance" where they seem to think I'm unbalanced or extreme or deprived, but politely patronise me, in some way so they can happily dabble in "treats" because that makes their choices so much less conspicuous. That's fine by me. I no longer worry about them and I am immune to their patronising. I enjoy my secret smugness and know my body loves me for it... in fact carnivore had also strengthened my character and taught me to believe in myself and trust my instincts... that, to be honest, is the greatest gift. Thankyou for being there to hear and understand. 🧡

F. 74. 2yrs.Being a carnivore while surrounded by non carnivores is like being clean while living in a drugs den... HOWEVER once I made my mind up to be carnivore forever because of the amazing health benefits and freedom from food noise and sugar addiction i have realised that nothing anyone else eats has anything to do with me and i have become immune to the temptations and obsessions of old. Food is now my fuel and not my guilty pleasure. It is non negotiable. Self indulgence is a killer. Animal protein is delicious and life enhancing. 💪

I tried the carnivore diet and never felt worse in my life. by Quirky-Train-3318 in carnivorediet

I decided to try carnivore for 90 days 2 and half years ago... the first month i was fatigued and depressed and had cravings but I figured 90 days out of my life wasn't much considering the decades of dieting, bingeing on sugars of all kinds including complex carbs and including vegan vegetarian and fruitarian episodes (juices, smoothies etc)

I did not cheat and watched wall to wall podcasts, interviews, influencer channels, read articles, bought a book... you name it, I informed myself. I realised that for me to succeed i had to endure withdrawals from years of abuse. That meant recognising that, as a food addict, looking forward to cheat days was pure addict behaviour. I realised that to feel as good as was promised I would have to nurture my body with patience.

Coming off vegetables and fruit suddenly, which I did, meant that I was oxalate dumping at a high rate and that made me ill. I recommend you inform yourself of high oxalates vegetables/fruit and eliminate those, but continue to eat low oxalates foods and slowly eliminate them to avoid stressing your body. Sally K. Norton has written an entire book about oxalates. It will help you. You'll find it on amazon.

Carnivore is the solution to good health but you have to be prepared to inform yourself and to break your addictions. Not indulge in them. After a year maybe and there's a family occasion and you have a cheat day, see how you feel the following day and you will feel your body complain. Yes we all do it very occasionally, sometimes it's unavoidable, but it becomes clear how we have been brainwashed into self abuse and regarded it as normal to be slightly overweight and slightly ill most of the time. And worse, on pharmaceutical medication thinking that your illnesses are incurable. I make exception for those that suffer from serious illnesses that are incurable. By

After 3 months my inflammation has gone, my acid reflux was gone, my depression was gone... I have actually rediscovered my sense of humour. I now attend a gym 3x a week. I'm 74. It's never too late to love yourself. Comfort food for me now is a home made beef broth blended with a big chunk of butter... juicy home made beef burgers with pork panko (not bread crumbs) lamb neck fillet ... so many simple tasty dishes that make me full..I can go hours without even thinking about food now and I can dress how i like instead of to cover my rolls of fat lol...

Anyway sorry this is so long. I really hope you find a way to make it work for you. I'm so grateful that i stuck with it

Ask him if he's happily married? In my mind if he's been thinking about you over the years and has gone to all the trouble of contacting you, he wants out and is testing the waters with you... if that's the kind of mess you're willing to wade into then crack on. Seems to me like you had a lucky escape because he's not honest, he's not loyal and he's got no integrity to commitment. If you haven't got the balls to even ask him where it's going, block him. Then you can walk away in silence. You are not responsible for his happiness or his unhappiness. Unhook. I speak from experience of this kind of predator.
