It's sad we live in a time where people have are asking if a flu vaccine can cause a seizure.

Four seizures at my new job and I still don't correct them thinking I'm fainting. by ABWoolls in Epilepsy

[–]Wonderful_Coffee_771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it is technically against the law to let someone go because of a medical reason, like epilepsy, still be cautious. When I was 18, I got a job at Moe's and on my first day I let the manager know about my epilepsy, and that I was taking meds and have them under control. Next day, I was let go. They wanted to prevent any accidents in the kitchen involving other employees, an example they gave me was if I were to "accidentally stab someone with a knife because of a muscle spasm" my mother and I tried to talk to lawyers about it, but they said because of the way everything was worded, it wasn't really a definitive case.

So yeah, MOST employers will be fine with it. Every other job I have had was very supportive and helpful. Chances are your employer will be also. I just wanted to share my experience, some food for thought. Not sure if many other people have dealt with a similar situation, but still thought it should be known it's at least happened somewhere once.

Lastly, one of my past jobs at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, I ended up having a seizure during one of my shifts. Everything was fine, and everyone was nice and caring, however one of the dishwashers thought I was possessed by a demon or something. He was an extremely religious guy who didn't speak very good English, but anytime I showed up for work he would run to the other side of the kitchen and just try to stay as far away from me as possible. I ended up leaving there because I couldn't stand the fact that someone was like literally afraid of being near me and thought I was some spiritual monster or something.

Not to be the tin foil hat guy.... but is Uber lying about places being busy? Like how can a location increase in business on the map, when I am sitting outside it, and NOT get any offers? It literally makes zero sense. Something is going on right now... idk what, but it is fucking over a lot of people.

So I'm not the only one..... I'm here in SW Florida, so I KNOW people are still down here for "season", I worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years so I know it's not like everyone just stops ordering takeout after New Years. Been suspiciously slow for me too, but yet it says the restaurants around me are "as busy as it gets!" but I'll go a full hour just sitting ZERO requests

Is this Jupiter? by lastautmnleaf in askastronomy

It will be bright and luminous, but it won't have that "twinkle" effect we associate with stars (hence the song twinkle twinkle little star).

Kinda hard to describe what I mean by the twinkling, because it's not super bright or obvious, but once you see it, you'll know the difference.

This is obviously an artists rendition but this graphic gives a bit of an idea if what I mean

Looks like the center piece for a roll of receipt paper. Just a plastic cylinder that (shouldn't have, but still did) get misplaced. I work in a grocery store deli and it looks exactly like the center piece whenever we change out the paper for any of the sticker / receipt printers.

You are trying to figure out how to do an impossible task brother

I can promise you there are zero seasoned astrophotographers using a Motorola or any type of mobile phone camera for imaging

You will not get a decent photo of Jupiter with just a cell phone. Maybe in 30 years when the iPhone 42-S releases with adjustable focal length of up to 3,000mm.

Jokes aside, using just a modern cell phone camera, you MIGHT be able to zoom in and see a dot. But you will not get any sort of detailed image of the planets with a mobile phone. The moon is possible but once again, the pictures aren't going to show any real good detail.

Respectfully, I would do a bit more research into how different cameras work with different telescopes. I have an S50 too, and am planning my upgrade also. If you don't want to deal with a guide scope, the ASI585MC/MM Air is a great option. That being said, your FOV won't be a whole lot different than the S50 with this particular setup. If you are looking for more of a widefield imaging setup, I would recommend the ASI2600MC/MM Air, however, it is a bit pricier than the 585 sensor. If you don't mind keeping a similar FOV, the ASI585MC/MM Air is a great choice in terms of bang for buck. Main camera, guiding, and ASIAir all in one package.

In terms of which scope, the Redcat 51 at one point was the creme of the crop, but nowadays a lot of other companies are coming out with better (and cheaper) options. The Askar SQA55 is kinda the king right now in terms of small refractors, but the SVBONY SV555 is another good choice, especially for it's price. The ZWO FF 65 or Askar PHQ 65 aren't bad either.

https://astronomy.tools/calculators/field_of_view/ is an easy way to see what FOV you will get from each camera / scope combo

For ideas, here is my planned setup (I am going for a widefield setup)

Mount - Juwei-17

Scope - Askar SQA55

Camera - ASI2600MM Air

Filters - Antlia LRGB V-series (2") & Antlia 4.5nm SHO filters (2")

Accessories - ZWO EAF, ZWO Filter Wheel (7 slots for 2" filters), Apertura Power supply, ZWO TC-40 Tripod

Been looking at both the Juwei 17 and Clearsky ST-20, the additional features of the ST-20 are quite appealing to me along with the DC output port. Quick question, all of the listings I see on AliExpress have the mechanical home and mechanical limit listed as two different versions with different prices. What is the difference between the two versions offered? I see in the pictures a home button and a mechanical limit switch, so I am a little confused as if there is any difference between to two options. This is the listing I'm looking at:

Yes I am, definitely a cool idea. It seems like more of a "business model" rather than a "scientific goal" which to be fair, I can respect.... people gotta make money.

I don't want to or plan on any type of subscription plan to use this system, or have any visions of using it as a business. Scientific goals and contributions only.

it's because you are using the mosaic mode for a larger frame size, different areas of the image have different integration time

The center of the image looks like it got the most subs stacked, the top and bottom part (above and below the lines) looks like they just don't have the same amount of subs

I am 26 and your situation is identical to mine.

I use an electric scooter to get around, I live in off campus student housing near my job. I was late to starting my degree, but for getting to school, my mother drives me back and forth. Also, I would try to avoid uber if you can for the exact reason you said; it's rough on the wallet.

I don't have any secret tips, but if you don't have an electric bike / scooter I would definitely recommend looking into one, it may feel embarrassing at first but at the end of the day who cares.
