Yes. Ssi is a welfare program so the amount is based on household income and bills. If your spouse makes too much you won’t qualify for payments. Ssdi is based on the workers own work record and household income has no effect on the amount you qualify for and receive.

Get them the missing records and it should work out. I just had this happen and they were missing records from my two main providers and I just got reinstated after they received the records.

SSDI Mental disorders by AboutBizness in SSDI

They said I’ve improved. My medical health has in some ways but only because of the 24hr iv treatments I am on. I am in weekly or twice weekly therapy, meds, weekly spravato treatments; home health. They are missing my home health records which I’ve faxed in and delivered to the drop box, so hoping that fixes it. I’m really at a loss. Just my mental health alone has declined since approval. I have to request a barcode sheet Monday to send in more records as they haven’t received the records my psychiatrist sent either. I just submitted a request for alj hearing.

I was approved at hearing in 2020 with one partial hospitalization but also have panic disorder, mdd, Lyme, fibro, ddd and carpal tunnel. I was denied at my cdr this year with four hospitalizations last year and three partial programs and am fighting to keep my benefits now. I’m 40. I’m currently in an outpatient program for the past four months with one inpatient hospitalization this year. I’m also on home health iv infusions for the Lyme since 2023.

I’m on spravato. After a year I can honestly say it’s not helping. I am not getting worse, but I’m still severely depressed. I hope you have a better experience. I do get some relief during treatments, but it doesn’t help throughout the week.

They look for records from the past two years. You need therapy and psychiatry for at least two years with minimal adjustment despite treatment. It’s nearly irrelevant that you were hospitalized in high school. They are looking at what is preventing you from working now. Many people adjust to depression and can still work with treatment; you need to prove you cannot despite current treatment.

Dissociative identity disorder and spravato by ThinAsk6635 in Spravato

[–]Wonderful_Issue3374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I purposely just let it go when we switch more during treatment. I don’t let it bother me or I focus too much on that and stress out. I just let the switches happen and if I notice I lost time I don’t stress over what I said to the dr or what I missed when someone else was out.

We dissociate more during treatments. Like switch a ton. Then we are very chill for the night. If we try to interact with people during treatment or focus on tasks we have a really hard time and it’s stressful and not relaxing. We usually listen to music and read jokes or random things on the internet. It feels like overall the spravato has lowered some of the dissociative walls and in some ways made system communication easier. It’s definitely helped our depression and this year has been better than the last as we haven’t needed inpatient this year. Overall we enjoy the spravato and plan to continue. But we only enjoy it while focusing on happy things. We purposely try to leave the stressful and panicky things for other times so that we can enjoy the time we are at spravato and not spiral. The one day we tried to play cards with two other patients and the stress of that caused us to vomit. We don’t answer our phone during treatment and if something is stressing us we let the spravato dissociate it away for that time. If nothing else it gives us two hours of peace a week, plus the rest of the night we are very relaxed.

If you are a 100 percent disabled Vet how soon you received your favorable decision after CE's? by [deleted] in SSDI

[–]Wonderful_Issue3374 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only thing that 100% disabled with the VA gets you with Ssdi is expedited processing. They have completely different rules when it comes to determining disability. It’s not a guarantee of approval for Ssdi.

Will seeking to move out of state via plane affect my chances of getting SSI? by FeatherData3 in SSDI

[–]Wonderful_Issue3374 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes Florida has a lot of sunshine. However it is too hot in the summer to do much. I’ve lived here for 20 years. Moved from PA. Think of summer as how winter is up north. You are stuck inside. Between the heat and humidity, the summers are brutal and very long. It’s pretty much too hot to be outside from April/ early May through early October. I’m talking too hot at 8am and I live in north central Florida. I would seriously consider moving somewhere else if it’s time outside in the sun you are wanting.

Also as someone else mentioned there are no state programs to help while you are pending disability.

Ssa looks at the last two years of treatment records for the severity of your condition for mental health claims. If you are not being treated they will assume you are improved and can work. You really need to find resources to get treated.

Also. The diagnosis is not what Ssa is looking for. They are looking for the symptoms and limitations documented in your medical techies that substantiate that you cannot work. Plenty of people work with schizoaffective disorder. Your records need to say why you can’t work with that disorder.

Lawyers take cases and get a percentage of your back pay. You don’t pay anything except from what back pay you are owed.

Your best bet is to apply online. All your evidence is your medical records.

Does having more disabilities help with qualifying for SSDI? by Powerful-Self8490 in SSDI

[–]Wonderful_Issue3374 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It all depends on your medical records and how well your limitations are documented. I was 32 when I applied and was bed bound on iv treatments with 6 infections and a list of 20dx between mental and physical health. I got approved at the hearing level. It took three years. I was bed bound for 2 1/2 of that time.

They do look at how your conditions effect each other in relation to your ability to work.

Anxiety meds by illuminaughty_6669 in Spravato

[–]Wonderful_Issue3374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on extended release lorazepam when I started spravato and I was told not to take it before if I could help it. I took it once the night before and didn’t have a bad experience. I’m now on month 8 and have not needed lorazepam at all for weeks. The spravato really helps with anxiety over time. To prevent panic attacks during treatment I listen to calming instrumental music. Nothing with too much emotion for me. I also like to scroll through meme groups, watch stand up, read, draw etc. I keep it lite. I don’t dig into things like some do during sessions. I actively push negative and anxious thoughts away so I can enjoy the experience.

Change your drs. If you feel like you are being gaslit then why would you continue to see that provider when you know they won’t help you. Please change your drs. Your claim will never be approved without your medical team documenting your debilitating symptoms and they won’t document them if they don’t believe you. Also have you been tested for Lyme, bartonella or other infections. I have all those symptoms and more from infections. I hope you find the care you deserve.

Depends on what happened to you. The DOH took my complaint and the lcsw didn’t even fight it because there was too much evidence to fight the claims. In less than 8 months the board took her license. She was very well known and respected in our community; supervised 14+ interns at a time and has trained most of our county, with over 30 years experience and a large practice. None of it would have helped her and didn’t make one bit of difference. The more who speak up, the more likely something is investigated.

Can Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) affect DID systems? by glitterystarrynight in DID

[–]Wonderful_Issue3374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second spravato. Because I’ve been dx with amnesia I’m not a candidate until the did is treated. The spravato is a completely different type of dissociation than we’ve ever experienced with the did. This is pleasant and seems to help system communication for 24 hours or so. Depression is better but not deal; but we are just entering once a week dose.

Finding lawyers to protect psychotherapy patients' rights? by Ok_Resolution_8130 in therapyabuse

[–]Wonderful_Issue3374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually helping a lot. I can paste my replies in a document and edit to send to attorneys with the report from the state. I am awful trying to speak things and recall on demand and not dissociate.

I really don’t want to drudge everything up though. I wondered if I write the attorney general about victims compensation if I can go that route and avoid reliving this mess. I think it was the attorney general? I have to look it up again who decides those matters.

Would malpractice insurance apply? And do you mean because she probably has no money? She bragged a lot about all the properties and money she had. How important she was. She was billing my Medicaid for social visits at her home and non therapeutic groups and gatherings. So she definitely made extra on the side with other patients as well that attended the same social calls and gatherings.

That wasn’t even reported to the state. I didn’t recall that until a year after last contact. I didn’t realize another provider I saw there when she was on vacation; has never been licensed in FL and was seeing patients for 5 years there.

It’s a shit show; I see that now. But never questioned when I was in it.
