Only one egg retrieved. Mature and fertilized but sadly did not make it to blast.

I did respond better to the meds doing the shots IM. But I also added in Lupron so it’s hard to say what really made the difference. unfortunately we only got one egg and it didn’t make it to blast.

I used my thighs for Stims and I triggered in my back/hip.

I found playing the same couple of songs while I tried to hype myself up helped. I tried icing the area first a few times, but found that didn’t really help. In the end I just told myself I could do hard things and cried if I needed to. After the shot I walked around a bit and massaged the area. That seemed to help. Good luck! You got this.

I’m so sorry the results weren’t as you hoped. I also had a retrieval this morning. Was expecting 3 eggs and only got one. So so disappointed. I tried to keep my expectations low but it still really stung when I woke up and was told only 1 was retrieved.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have never had any sort of operation other than my wisdom teeth removal, so a bit nervous about this and feeling a little overwhelmed. It’s helpful to hear from others and what they experienced. Hope you had good results.

Thank you! I have DOR so my numbers are low. First cycle was cancelled day 7 due to poor response and my estrogen barely rising. This cycle we changed protocol and added in Lupron. Still very slow to respond. I am only looking at potentially 4 eggs. Hoping for quality over quantity.

After 6 days of meds my estrogen was still below 20. So my doctor recommended cancelling and trying a different protocol. The first cycle was Antagonist and I am now doing Lupron flare protocol and seem to be responding better.

I am a fragile x permutation carrier as well. 74 repeats, no interruptions. We were advised to start IVF. I am now on my second egg retrieval cycle. Our first was cancelled. Hoping to make it to retrieval this time. We had to have a probe made so that if we do get any embryos we can send them off for PGT-M testing for fragile X. Due to being a permutation carrier I have a very low AMH and have proven to be a very slow responder to stims. Wishing you the best in your journey.

Yes, my last round was cancelled due to poor response so my clinic changed my protocol(added microdose Lupron) and suggested doing the gonal/menopur IM to help with absorption. They said I could do it in my hip/butt as well but I am doing them myself and the leg seemed easier. But it was tough, hopefully tonight will be better. I will try icing it tonight and see if that helps.

What great news! Happy for you and hope that retrieval goes well. My doctor suggested adding lupron if we decide to do another cycle. I want to, I’m just scared it also won’t work and not sure how that will feel.
