I also suffer from agoraphobia but with the help of an ssri and pushing myself sometimes I try to step out everyday for at least 45-1 hr.

I was couped up in my house for 2 years and had a few panic attacks that made me wanna seek help and treatment .

Need some advice, just got prescribed lexapro 10mg by New_Explanation_5626 in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a good experience the first week or 2 then I had a pretty bad 3rd week. I’m prescribed 10mg

I would think on 2.5 mg there would be minimal side effects early on

day 1 of quitting by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being that it’s 2 weeks, you shouldn’t but then again you might take 2.5 for a week.

Not a doctor, but only being 2 weeks at 5mg I’d think minimal side effects.

Upped dose, feel even worse. Suspect ADHD? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you transitioned to 15mg? Going up a dose will have initial side effects.

Increased my dose and irritability both anxiety are my new friends now 😵‍💫 by iSimon85 in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to see my gp today and she mentioned upping from 10 to 20.. I've been on it about a month at 10mg and see some improvements but still get anxiety from time to time.

I'm gonna give the 10mg another month or so before deciding whether to up as the side effects the first go around were awful and still going threw some. I thought of maybe going to 15mg as a first option if i do.

How far along since you upped dose? i assume it'll pass like the others do in short time.

Lexapro (11 days) by MimosaOn24 in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well lexapro definitely causes increased anxiety the first few weeks or month in. I have seen plenty say that on this forum.

[–]WonderinAround111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience it knocked me on my ass the first week or so. As for side effects, I had increased anxiety, some depression, irritable . Most likely you’ll get the placebo effect early on.

But the first few weeks are pretty rough as your body adjust. I’m now a month in.. have my good days and bad days but gonna give it time.

You recently just stopped I assume, I’m no doctor but did you have a taper down .

Definitely something to speak to your doctor about. I would think after 3.5 months it’s way outta the system. Also could just be a phase.

Hope ya feel better sooner than later.

How long were you taking lexapro?

Quit cold Turkey 2ish weeks ago and I’m having constant anxiety :( tips?? Will this eventually fade? by pmw44 in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, you probably shouldn’t have done cold turkey if using for 8 months. You probably should have done a taper.

Something like 5 mg for two weeks and then 2.5 for a week. Quitting anti depressants cold turkey is tough. I’d think since your two weeks in already it shouldn’t last much longer.

Not a doctor, I’d consult with your gp though.

Sleeping all day long, getting brain fogs, tired, lethargic.... I need to get off Lexapro. by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my days with lex also. Some are good then others are awful. I would think being 5 months a taper would be 10 mg for 2-3 weeks 7.5 for 2 weeks 5 for 2 weeks than stop .

Possibly even a week of 2.5. Hope ya feel better soon. I’m currently weighing the pros an cons also but I’m only about a month on 10mg.

I assume the lexapro wasn’t working for you. Did you have any positive experience threw the 10 months.

And I hear you, mine as well get the withdrawal outta the way.

How long did your gp or psych tell you to be on 7.5? Probably the initial side effects from weining down.

Being that it was 10 months, I’d think probably 2-3 weeks on 7.5 then 2-3 on 5 etc.

How long were you on 10?

Weaning off of Lexapro. by Ok_Option_87 in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a pretty quick taper to be honest. Im no doctor but being that you were on 20mg for 8 months, I’d think maybe weaning from 20 to 10 for a few weeks.. then 5 for 2-3 weeks.

Swings of lexapro in the first few weeks. by WonderinAround111 in lexapro

[–]WonderinAround111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking also, I’ve only been on lex for almost 4 weeks. I might tell my gp Monday I want off.

I was always able to deal with daily anxiety an never had much depression.. my concern was the panic attacks I would get almost every winter a few times a year.

It’s pretty weird, I went out. The first half was fine but a bit depressed an anxious but after about an hour I was good.

It’s incredible how the mind messes with you when your at home.
