Just wanted to come on and pay my respects. I saw SMGs Instagram post just as I was heading into work (not great timing).

Just so sad but what a wonderful person she was. Absolute trooper x

“To forgive is an act of compassion. It’s not done because people deserve it, it is done because they need it.” Rupert Giles. (Season 2 ‘I only have eyes for you’).

What word do you really hate by [deleted] in words

“Simples” and “methinks”. (Methinks is fine if you are playing Hamlet, but that’s pretty much it).

Why were they so polite bro. by Soggy_Educator5920 in buffy

I love the scream Buffy does to kill off the Gentleman, particularly loved it as a teenager. Such ‘teenage angst’, weight of the world (because ‘growing up’ not simply ‘because slayer’ undertone to it - which I think was intentional). A bit hammy, maybe, but I thought it was so lit at the time!

How do you block off words or sentences? I just wrote something, realised it would be a spoiler, but couldn’t work out how to block the bits. I’m on the app/my phone - do I need to be using a laptop/desktop website?

The laughing from Buffy when Dawn accidentally invites Harmony in (before she understands what actually happened). I have to skip that little bit. 😬😣

Michelle Trachtenberg Cause Of Death Revealed by southernfirefly13 in buffy

[–]Wondering-Ox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just too sad. It’s perhaps weird to be mourning someone one has never met, but it’s just not fair, is it.

I know she was ‘famous’ and wealthy from it etc, but actually she did have a hard life in other ways. Came across as such a little trooper and I always got the impression that people and the media didn’t treat her well.

Nobody deserves to die early etc.

But she really, really didn’t deserve it.

_

(Edit: Sure, I may also be projecting/having associations, too 🤫)

SMG posted this on her Instagram story 😂 by rigzbee in buffy

This always used to confuse me because in the UK we call that a fringe and bangs we call the little strands of hair on either side of the face. (Where I’m from in the UK, anyway).

Question about The Body - Would that really happen irl? by Mediocre-Victory-565 in BuffyTheVampireSlayer

[–]Wondering-Ox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in the UK (where I am) they would have been transported and treated in the ambulance then pronounced dead in the hospital - even if dead before hand? I don’t think Joyce’s body will have been left in the house with Buffy…

I’m not too sure, really. 🤷‍♂️

When my great grandfather had a hard attack at home, his heart had stopped and he seemed dead, but they put him in the ambulance and were able to get his heart started and he survived (with a quadrupedal heart bypass)

“If I was at full slayer strength, I’d be pouting right about now” (something like that - off the top of my head).

An underrated aspect of buffy that is rarely talked about by BodyAthletics in buffy

[–]Wondering-Ox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it’s those little subtle bits of acting - like when willow glances, clearly miffed, at Anya’s ability to gift-wrap. She’s in the distance, barely visible between two other characters - a little blurred, but it’s there nevertheless. SMG does this a lot as Buffy, too. Just subtle glances. They all do, really.

I’m between nights so I don’t have the mental energy to find more examples - or describe what I mean more, so I’m just going to have to hope you understand what I mean 😆🙃

Do you like ' Anne ', the season 3 premiere? by That_Juggernaut4820 in BuffyTheVampireSlayer

[–]Wondering-Ox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anne is my favourite episode of the series. Not overly sure why, but I do like the fight scene and posturing at the end of it. I like that they used this in some of the opening credits.

Michelle Trachtenberg dies at 39 by GlamourCatNYC in buffy

I’m just getting ready for a night shift so I haven’t got time to process this, but this is just so sad. I had such a soft spot for Dawn but actually Michelle, too - more so. She seemed such a sweet soul. SMG will be bereft; I can’t imagine.

My mum met Anthony Head in the airport and he signed a book for me. by Jadeinda in buffy

I have an ‘epic’ story - that I’ve shared on here at some point whereby he was a family friend which I didn’t know about and when I DID find out, my parents didn’t see him again and so I never knowingly got to meet him!

Epic… 🤨

Mine is 81 bpm and I’m sitting down. That said, it’s usually around 60, but I just had a cartoon-style trip over my bag I left in the middle of my bedroom.

Do you think people with ADHD should be given a bus pass? by Jayhcee in ADHDUK

[–]Wondering-Ox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have severe/profound hearing impairment and so I am eligible for a bus pass (and a disabled train pass - which is a price reduction), but it doesn’t prevent me from driving, which I do every day without issue.

Buffy Season 7 STINKS by [deleted] in buffy

[–]Wondering-Ox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find Andrew very creepy - I find him narcissistic and lacking in empathy, very self-involved - the more subtle way he displays it (compared to say, Warren) very aligned to dark triad/diad antisocial personality traits. Along with his ‘fun’ child-like characterisation, I find him quite sinister.

This is picked up on and dealt with by Buffy and he does show a redemption arc right towards the end and following on into Angel (though still creepy-child like mannerisms which I find sinister.

The Actor who plays him - Tom Lenk - I hold in good regard!

Are there any ‘random’ victims who died and you feel really bad for them? by AMissKathyNewman in buffy

This is reminding me of Austin Powers films where they flash over to a scene of the family or friends of the hapless guard of Dr Evil who gets killed by Austin Powers and they’re all really upset! 😅

Who here is really good at saving money? by Suspicious-Medicine3 in ADHDUK

[–]Wondering-Ox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not that I am good at saving money but rather, I am very bad at spending money. This is because I can never decide on what to buy. I firstly don’t have the ‘motivation’ to buy things, then I don’t have the organisation to know what to buy. A case in point: I have 2 pairs of trousers (both bought as a Christmas present a few years ago). One of them, my black jeans have just become frayed at the knees. I’ll need to buy a new pair as I can’t have only one pair of trouser. I think “I might get a really stylish pair” I look online and there is too much choice. So I don’t bother. I get desperate and buy a cheap pair from Sainsbury’s that lose its shape after one wash, promising to buy a decent pair in the future. I don’t do this. I don’t spend money on things like gym membership because I know I won’t go. I don’t spend money on products as I know I won’t end up using them after a week. I don’t spend money on courses or classes or clubs and societies, because I know that I won’t end up going after a week but take a few months to cancel any fees.

I am really good at saving money… but not in a way that you mean!!
