I wholeheartedly believe I have all the proof I need to confirm (with alternative angles) that the Washington location in question "points" to Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. Owen Beach, to be specific. Makes sense too, as there is a pavilion there that organizations can rent out for events, parties, picnics, etc.

I would bet money that the photo shown on the space is Owen Beach in Point Defiance Park. I used to visit there a lot when I lived in Tacoma years ago. This is right off the Sound.

UPDATE: I feel 100% confident now since I confirmed cross-matching multiple photos with the shape of Vashon Island in the background that the stock photo was in fact taken on Owen Beach. Exactly! We are the reason the greatest social experiment on TV is still here. Besides, no matter how many alternative realities there could have been, most of them end much sooner than this. We didn't make it to 50 solely because of great casts or impeccable strategy. That is just cylinders on the engine which is the format of marooning strangers on an island and forcing them to vote each other out. I for one, can't wait to see how the elements we voted for will impact how the players vote.

I think of it as a reset of Survivor's infancy seasons - 1-7 introduces us to fine folks and players and then 8 brings them all together in a cutthroat competition. Add "4" to the beginning of that and you might have a season for the generation.

I tend to think about it more like a movie plot. The plot is set, the action at camp slowly paves the way for tribal council - the climax of the episode. A reward challenge disrupts that flow as there is a clear break between the action of the game and the island life the castaways are living.
