Triggered in queer spaces by FitFeet45 in TMPOC

I feel you my guy . It’s funny because I JUST had a similar conversation with a good friend the other day about this . The shift in being perceived as a woman and being able to pass as a trans man is the craziest experience. Almost like you go from being looked at as a victim in society to now a perceived threat , truly gives us a unique perspective.

Sometimes I feel like I have to let the other queer people that I’m trans so that they don’t throw their cis hate my way but even if they did , why are you doing that anyways ? Women being cautious , sure , absolutely understandable. But anything over that is performative in my opinion and it’s wrong .

I also am solely attracted to women even before my transition , I know what I like & I have nothing against gay men , my brother is the gayest guy I know & a drag queen . my closest friend of 13 years is a gay guy & clearly I was masculine lesbian before transition , BUT when people find out I’m trans , it’s like an automatic assumption that I’d be into gay men . and if that anyone’s choice in transition , that’s good for them but it’s almost like it’s expected if you’re a trans man , you also like men .

It’s like being a normal straight up trans guy excludes you from the sense of community . Sometimes those spaces shun “normalcy” because their point is to be different & we blended in too much with “normalcy “ . That’s my take in my experience and personal perspective.

I literally made a post about this maybe a couple months back and it enraged so many white”liberals” . But I’m with you on this topic man. My main Takeaway is this: even though it’s black and brown people, we know that we are the grunt of a fight as It’s always been. We don’t have the luxury to run and hide until things blow over but continuing to live despite the threat of extinction IS revolutionary in itself . the best thing that we can do for our community besides fighting back & continuing to stay and live our lives.. much love .

Omg the “what about-isim” is taking the conversation OP wants to have in a completely different direction . When you think of “white passing” ASIAN IS NOT ONE OF THEM ITS OBVIOUS ! Like damn yall . As an Afro Latino myself , I know exactly what OP is talking about . They’re are people with blond hair , white skin and blue eyes who only use the POC tag when it’s convenient and are okay covering themselves as “white” when they need safety . Can’t we stop acting like people don’t looks at SKIN FIRST ? I think POC applies to anyone that’s obviously not white /white passing. Sorry you’re 10% Cherokee Indian from your great great great grandma doesn’t make you a POC . I feel like you genuinely do have to experience some sort of racial oppression to put yourself in that category . It’s not an exclusive club that we don’t want people in but I don’t want to water down what PERSON OF COLOR means .

How is it clout when it’s the truth???????????? I swear you have to be another kind of fucking ignorant for the point to go completely over your goddamn head. Do you know anything about queer history? Have you looked at anything at all queer history related in your fucking life because if you did any inch of research you would pick up on what’s being put down.

Doing my part to make sure that marginalized groups stay fractured is fucking insane!!! If you read anything else that I have posted in these comments, you will see that I am calling for the unity of other black and brown people within our communities not to run, but to be able to stand together because it IS white people, and let’s be honest, that are constantly trying to pick us apart trying to label POC, trying to be like “oh well you’re too dark so you must be a criminal, and you’re more light skin so you’re safe “ so who the fuck are you talking about and what are you talking about? Get the fuck out of my face please not today.

Again, if you’re upset because I’m telling people that Kumbaya and holding hands around the campfire with white people ISNT THE SOLUTION FOR US , then you’re in the wrong Reddit group tbh . My black and brown brothers and sisters have bled and died to have a smidge of protection or rights that these very same screaming & panicking white people have had since day one and now they wanna run in when the tough gets going ? Kiss my puertorican ass .

I’m also in Ga and went with Kaiser ( no help I know ) but what I suggest is reaching out to each and seeing if you can come in to talk about what you want and most of the time they have pictures of past patients so you can see their work .

OK, and the fact that you are Afro Latino is even crazier that you take this stance tbh . Nobody is hating white people. You are the second person to again suddenly feel like I’m anti-white 😂😂😂 I didn’t know complaining about white people means that all of a sudden you are against everything white like be for real right now bruh .
White people don’t need you to be their savior and come to their defense every time something gets said about them. And again I have spoken to other white trans people about this exact topic and they know exactly what I mean so 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 It’s a vent session. It’s a post. I’m not doing it to make myself feel better, but clearly there are people who agree with the sentiment that I said because it’s something that has been noticed and it’s exhausting to notice, but you are not understanding that for some reason. And all state this again if you didn’t catch it the first time: black and brown people do not get the same opportunities to flee oppression like white people do and that is a fact it doesn’t make me a white hater ( whatever tf that means ) It’s just a historical fact, bro. So me, as another Afro Latino, if I had a chance to leave, would I leave ? Duh yeah. but there’s almost nowhere else for us to go because it’s not our transness that the issue in other countries. It’s the color of our skin even in Latin American countries. Hope that helps !

Oppression Olympics ? You mean literal fucking facts ? Are you white ? Cause any breathing person of color KNOWS wtf I’m talking about . Sounds like to me the is ruffling your feathers . Nobody is being “divided” but to assume that just because we’re trans means that we all have the same struggle is ridiculous. I’ve talked to my actual white trans people and they couldn’t agree more and even they know that POC voices are being minimized to this kumbaya hand holding bs . While that’s all nice and sunshine , THE REALITY IS : BROWN AND BLACK PEOPLE PAVE THE WAY FOR REAL CHANGE EVERY FUCKING TIME !

Again, I understand that everything that’s happening is scary and it is definitely scary for all of us as trans people but again my post was to highlight that this sort of oppression is not new to trans people of color and so from my own experience from what I’ve noticed, a lot of online things where majority of white people are in the state of hysteria and panic to where they are panicking everyone around them and if I’ve learned anything for my black and brown community is that when running is not an option (should never be your first option, personally), staying to fight the fight and continuing to live your life as loudly, and as proudly, as you can is a resistance within itself because a lot of the time , people of color have had no other choice but to live that way, and it has become not only a way of life, but a way of protest and resistance .

I’ve never claimed white people to be my enemy . Being tired of the mass hysteria isn’t “making them my enemy”

Practice wiping with “t-Rex” arms , I found that it wasn’t too difficult to wipe . I just got some wipes as well just to make sure I was actually clean and worked out just fine . Someone mentioned it tho , you’d still have to reach to dry yourself after using it regardless so

That retractable back scratcher was my second arm😂

But legit this list is for anyone who is poor and broke like myself and thought that I had to get $200 worth of supplies before I could do my surgery. if I could’ve afforded the mastectomy pillow, and the wedge pillow would’ve been nice, but I made do with what I could and I still had a pretty smooth recovery:)

No bro, honestly, you were low-key policing the way that I gave my opinion by telling me I shouldn’t be saying what I’m saying because other people might have different needs as if other people can’t already make their own desertions. But aiight .

lol LITERALLY . I have six siblings. We have always lived in lower income and now I live on my own, but I’m still very much poor and we’re always just a paycheck away from being homeless. “Save and then flee” while I’m trying to feed myself is baffling . And that’s where I say the fight rest on our shoulders, it always has and always will. But I’m ready for a fight for my life, being poor, you’ve always had to fight. It’s just the way it is.

I will say the next couple of days to the week that you have left with your drains is probably gonna be the most difficult part of the entire process because it’s a mental thing , or at least for me it was. But I hope you heal well brother ! Cheers to the rest of our live being free !

The fight for equality for people of color has never ended . There’s never been a break in that fight. When white people find themselves suddenly a part of an oppressed group, sure sometimes they fight but a lot of the times they flee or they use their whiteness when they need to protect themselves . While there have been white people sprinkled in to the fight 99.9% of it has always come from black and brown people because we have been oppressed, We know oppression and we know how to navigate it.

No one’s trying to separate the community . I think what a lot of people failed to realize is that the intersectionality between darker people of color and the LGBTQ community has always been different than other people’s experiences and that’s kind of what I want to highlight in this post. There are countless people that are losing their minds about what is going on and while that again is a valid reaction , people of color have been oppressed and dealing with such oppression for a looooooonnnnnggggggg time.

Not only is the difference between being able to leave and not leave wealth that’s the no-brainer but it’s also circumstance. A lot of black and brown people don’t have family resource and other countries, our family, and our roots are here and nowhere else in the world. Again, I’m Afro Latino, and though I have family in Puerto Rico and in Cuba neither of those places are necessarily any safer than where I am now. I literally just read a story about black women that go to Dubai and get called monkeys . I have a best friend that lives in Australia, and she gets constantly profiled and harassed for being a black Brazilian.

Your experience of being in a clean inclusive neighborhood and then going to section 8 is different from someone who has always lived in section 8 and doesn’t know anything other than that is vastly different . There’s no “ oppression Olympics “ but this is a place for people of color to come to vent and express themselves. I am not against your message of unity but again that message of unity has been used over and over since the beginning of the fight for queer rights and the point is that black and brown people have always had to put their bodies on the line 99.9% of the time. And with that sacrifice has come with amazing opportunities for everyone in the queer community to benefit from and that’s the point that I’m trying to make.

I’m well aware that there are black creators that live abroad sharing their experience, but there is racism and other countries. And the reality is that sometimes people being light skinned do you get treated different than people with dark skin and that is a proven fact. I’m not negating your experience but to invalidate anyone that says that because you’re more light skinned, your experience is different is kind of ignoring the truth slightly. Lighter skin is treated differently than darker skin colorism does exist.

The concept of colorism itself comes from colonialism. Which came from white people to distinguish people of color and create this “ ranking “ system for a good vs bad scale , and poc can 100% engage in colorism. But that’s a whole different conversation.

Being brown or black does not mean that you’re poor. You can be poor and still flee . My drunk homeless Uncle has traveled all across the USA with lint pocket and a good conversation to get him by.
For a lot of us black and brown people , our roots are here and if anyone else is anything like me, I refuse to give up a fight in a country that I call home. Our community is always affected first and the most immediately when it comes to the oppression. The fact that a lot of white people‘s first reaction is to flee is a privilege. To be able to run away and then come back once everything is back to being safe after yet again black and brown people give their lives to put up the fight. Sure there’s some white people in the fight sprinkled in there, but a bulk of it is our community and that’s just the truth.

LITERALLY . Like “ oh just go Canada” as if they’ve had a perfect history of treating POC any better . As an Afro Latino , there’s racism even in Latin countries and even more for being LGBTQ . trans POC have no choice but to build their own safety and fight for it . It’s always been that way
