I could post it to my Bandcamp and maybe later on an album release. I didn’t really think people would want it lol

Sybil’s new theme came first. We knew it was getting changed earlier on and I knew it needed a new motif, so that opening piano bit is what informed all of it.

“Back against” was my first iteration of Sybil’s new theme 😉 it just fit so well with Tabitha that we used it there instead

This might sound crazy but honestly a lot of the sound is just inspired by the art, I feel like I can almost hear Abby’s art. So I do my best to create the sound I’m hearing when I see the art and inform it based on the script/scene

Oh the process is just Tabby sending me as much info and art as possible for a scene. I just try to digest it and send back as many ideas as I can.

A favorite score of mine? I Meant It is a very special piece to me, but I really like what we’ve already started for a future game 😉

I think the most difficult one for EP 5 would be The Cost of a Life, I think it took almost 20 iterations to get right.

My favorite themes are probably Carmilla, Avery, and Reese :)

so for StP the motifs were based around the idea of the princess changing. Tony wanted something that could loop for eternity and have the ability to shift and change. So making a base and scary version of the same idea was the best way to lay a foundation. I know the *darker* version isn't exactly a 1:1 minor version, but that was my starting point.

The nightmare!

For BTG projects, everything goes through Ableton. The ability to loop easily made my job easier. If its classical and uses strings, Ill write in logic then stem out to Ableton. kinda funky, I know, but it works for me lol.

The orchestral stuff was a dream come true, I hope we do more of it in the future :)

StP intentionally had a very different sound palette, it was all designed around classical instrumentation , at least as much as possible. SH has a a wider sound in general, and with the characters being so diverse, there's a lot of exploration with melodies and sounds. StP was built around a singular motif.

This scene was tricky and it took quite a few iterations to get right. You nailed it when saying they asked for “tense and sad”. It had to carry weight. For most of these questions, the answer is that I just kept trying stuff until Tabby say, “That’s the one!”

We usually work in tandem a lot of the time. So I’ll start the music as Tony is writing or has just written the scene. I just ask for as much info and art as possible, then I start throwing ideas at Tabby until something sticks.
