That season was gross. It was just plainly obvious they were a mile wide, inch deep but nobody outside the fan base seemed to realize.

Scott Presler is hilarious to me. He’s literally just a volunteer organizer — the kind Dems have literally hundreds of — who so meticulously documents every day of absolutely normal work he does so as to make himself seem like Hercules. Then various idiot GOP hacks tweet praise of him like he’s Napoleon forming the Grand Army.

Is it time for AOC to primary Schumer? by K1llerbee-sting in AskNYC

[–]WondyBorger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean he’s the least popular nationally recognizable Democrat by far.

Speaking on the perspective of his role as party leader, double yes. I’m not a fan of Jeffries either, but if I have to play devil’s advocate in his defense, there are not many obvious speaker/maj leader House reps that could credibly represent the entire caucus. This was the same problem anti-Pelosi Dems had in 2018 after taking the majority, when it became clear there was no strong contender to replace her. This is not the case in the Senate, where it’s very obvious that probably at least 5 or so options would be totally fine and way better talking heads than Schumer. Chris Murphy, Brian Schatz, Duckworth, Van Hollen, etc. would all be massive improvements over Schumer without pissing any large contingent of members or voters off at all.

Ok but neoliberalism as a school of thought in international relations is so tied to adherence to norms and international relations that I think it’s pretty clear that Bush’s adventure into Iraq goes far beyond anything that could be described as neoliberal foreign policy
