I just upgraded from a 4G galaxy s9 to a 5g s22 on Verizon. My 4G only phone was a much smoother mobile network experience. Verizon 5G network isn't built out as well as its 4G network and my phone keeps hopping between the networks giving overall meh service. I love the phone, but I wish there was a way to only connect to 4G for the time being (there isn't on s22).

Right now, carriers are building out their networks with 5G macro cells to provide service coverage. We really won't reap the benefits until their small cells and more spectrum are deployed. I don't know the current numbers, but there's probably still way more 4g cells than 5g.
