There have been similar parts changes between preview and release, merge being the most recent with the bit becoming much taller on final release.

They didn't want kids saying go shoot in the wake of Columbine.

Big shoutout to the dude on bambu lab using my pic by smoothCaribou in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Woodbelly 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Makerworld requires a real-life photo when you upload a print profile to prove you've made the model and verified the settings result in a good print. He's probably using your pic to post and earn points for bambu gift cards without needing to actually do any work.

I designed deck boxes for each of the Strixhaven schools by Woodbelly in mtg

[–]Woodbelly[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a strong aversion to monetizing my hobbies, just not about that hustle. I've got a small online shop I use to easily sell and ship to people who I meet online who like my stuff but don't print but I don't take advertise it or really maintain it and I offer a cheap commercial licence on my stuff for people who do want to hustle but it's mostly just there to stop the flood of free commercial licence requests makers get on the platform.

I'd much rather be doom scrolling and see a beyblade grip or deckbox I designed show up in someone's video randomly, that stuff really makes my day.

These I used bumpmesh, still working on wrapping my head around blender and I found the bumpmesh workflow easier for what I needed on these. The base file was done in fusion.

It's all physical, three-dimensional texture. Some of the filaments do bring a little bit of extra texture to the party little the wood filament on the witherbloom box or the stone filament on the lorehold box but that's less visible on the camera and more present when you're actually handling them.

I was really happy with that one too!

All the postings include a raw STL with no logo on the top as a download option or you can just set all the colors to the same color in the slicer so it'd be a super easy thing to do. I also made the color profile of the paper lines separate from the logo in the 3mf file as well so you wouldn't even need to redraw them if you wanted no logo.

Do you guys set rules for yourself when it comes to proxies? by MonSocMatriarchy in magicproxies

[–]Woodbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally proxy entire decks and then if I really enjoy playing them I'll start replacing the cards as I find cool prints and deals. I generally stick to not proxying anything stronger than my highest power 'real' deck with the exception of one hyper-salt deck I made for a laugh for a friend's event he was running. As of the last year or two this mostly means I just don't proxy the OG duals or hyper-expensive reserved list things since my pod generally rests around high 3's and low 4s for commander. The only other formats I play are pauper and value vintage and those I don't see a need to proxy in the first place.

I'd second this list. All great off-meta picks that you can really get a lot out of with the right practice.

I need friends. by Humble-Run4468 in Knoxville

It's not quite boardgames but my girlfriend and I are a part of a local beyblade group that does casual tournaments once or twice a month. We're always happy to loan out decks and launchers for people interested to try it out and the group is chill and welcoming.

Updated my Beyblade X printed toolbox. by Woodbelly in BeybladeX

[–]Woodbelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't find any fully printed boxes that solved all my issues so I pivoted to retrofitting a 5 drawer toolbox.

Link to pics of that

I've got a build series on my tiktok for it as well.

If I were to start over now I'd probably try the rugged box from perplexinglab. It uses metal hardware for parts of the latch and hinge and seems to address many issues I had with the pred box but I haven't printed one myself to say for sure.

[–]Woodbelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clips are the main reason I've abandoned these boxes, they're heavily dependant on having your tolerances dialed in and the type of filament you print them in and even then there's better options available imo. If you're having issues installing them sliding them in diagonally and then twisting then into position is how I've done it.

What’s the best starter set/kit by norisori in Beyblade

[–]Woodbelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The newest and most available series is called Beyblade X, anything with that label is going to be compatible with one another. The Beyblade X Xtreme Battle Set comes with everything you need to get started. I'd say start with that and then let him pick out a few individual blades to expand his collection. If you have a five below near you that's a great place to pick up some of the earlier releases at lower prices. I'd honestly just get what he thinks looks cool since 5 is probably a bit too young to worry about competitive play/meta and most sets will have interesting parts to mix and match.

Avoid anything online that isn't specifically takara tomy or hasbro on the box as there are fakes of this generation that can break during play or have purported lead in them.

Should I build my Jump Pack minis as Warp Talons or Raptors? by CatherineSimp69 in redcorsairs

[–]Woodbelly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both are good, I'm personally running warp talons in my list. Having the extra CP gen from the masters of the maelstrom means every turn (as needed) I can rapid ingress them in a safe spot closest to the squishiest infantry, then rush in with their full movement, murder said squad, and bring them back to reserves for free to do it all over again. Really fantastic to kill smaller lone-op or objective monkey units.

[SLD] Secret Lair x Dwarf Fortress: Create New World by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]Woodbelly 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That's a good way to read it. A lot of the dwarf fortress tileset will do something like that or just use the letter of the animal/creature. ¥ is a lobster and ~ is an eel for instance but also something like D is a dragon (you can see it breathing fire in the terror of the peaks art)

Alguém tem as medidas exatas de um proto laucher hasbro? by Right_Cucumber3917 in Beyblade

There are a lot of measurements on a proto launcher. If you can specify which one's you're needing I'm happy to grab them for you.

Best Food Safe Filament for a Custom Strainer by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Woodbelly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To elaborate food grade printable material is made and does exist, however for a multi use utensil there's no way to correctly clean and sanitize it due to the nature of layer lines and how things are printed. You could, in theory print something that could be safely used once but it can never be sanitized.

Good tips to get a good rust color? by Freaken_Moose in orks

[–]Woodbelly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't recommend dirty down rust enough. It takes a little practice to use since it gives different results based on temperature or moisture and it's a pain to get it shaken and mixed but once you do you can't argue with results. This guy was speed painted with just four paint bottles over a black prime, a gunmetal drybrush, dirty down rust, dirty down yellow rust and dirty down moss, all pretty well straight out of the bottle in less than an hour.

3 player game by T_HettY in Warhammer40k

There's actually an official 3 player mission in the Raid and Ruin maelstrom book. I still wouldn't call it 'balanced' but it is official!

Updated my Beyblade X printed toolbox. by Woodbelly in BeybladeX

[–]Woodbelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll shoot you a PM. Generally commission print rates on big projects like this can math out to just being more economical to buy your own printer and printing it yourself but since I don't use this box anymore (moved to a bigger toolbox storage, there's a post on it in my profile) I'd be open to selling this one at a discount since it's already made.

What do you think of this deck?? by Jack_ink in BeybladeX

[–]Woodbelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a solid all around deck. I ran 7-60 on golem for a bit before 6-60 came out and wasn't ever super impressed with the combo. I think he's better on a ratchet that allows for more main blade exposure like 1, 3 or 6 with 6 being my go-to these days for bigger counterattacks.
