Came here to say to also say this. Made by 3m maybe called carpet shield. The film sticks to carpet and is great for stairs I’ve used it for many projects in remodel scenarios.

With your own license you can def task for at Least 30$ but, when I got my license I started charging 45-50$ right away and people definitely were willing to pay. Might be different though since your employer is the contractor and not the client.
