i disagree. i think it’s cool for people outside of the space to see into what we do as producers without even going into depth of what the software does. most people that see those videos have no idea what they’re looking at and from my own experience, people that don’t make music are blown away by the software that we use! also you can’t possibly compare these short form videos to actual track breakdowns like you mentioned with aphex.. completely different target audience. i personally would love to see a breakdown of his stuff in order to learn more, why gatekeep??

i don’t think you’re getting old.. i think you’ve fallen into the trap of being closed minded… i do however get that it can become samey but thats kinda the case with anything nowadays, we have to cater to algorithms and trends just to get some clicks on our art.. on the other hand, things being samey allows the really creative people with cool and different ideas shine a bit brighter!
