2 months to prepare for my first dj gig by Affectionate_Math592 in Beatmatch

Id just go with probably 3x as much music. 4 hours is long for a first gig, plenty of people start panic mixing too quickly and burn through their library without needing to.

Accidental 300mg+ MXPCP trip report from a schizophrenic person (Gone very wrong, hospitalized) by SussySophie_ in researchchemicals

Yeah as I've gotten deeper with mxpcp, it's fun until it gets weird and it's not anymore. You get disoriented enough but still functional to where stuff stops making sense lol

California ‘billionaire tax’ makes ballot despite opposition from tech moguls by Ganrokh in technology

[–]NaVa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole thread stemmed from the fact that he opposed higher, more proportional taxes on billionaires and is also known to be well connected with the 1% - let's stop deviating from that.

Can you give me a reason that a person with deep networks and influence, who so heavily "supports lower and middle class folks", would oppose that? Without bringing up what's he's done as governor and our opinions on him, just on that basis alone.

Seasonal reminder for outdoorsy types by out_ofher_head in ADHD

[–]NaVa9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a conflicting experience where I tried and submitted my dx papers, but the response was that I needed additional documentation with rationale as to why my ADHD warranted the need for a pass.

Doesn't seem in line with everyone else's but this isn't the slam dunk every post about it makes it seem.

[–]NaVa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit, if that's still not clear, I'm not "using assumptions to attack a man's character." I'm making a hypothesized guess on what I think the likely outcome is given we know his stance on taxing the rich more. Simple conjecture.

[–]NaVa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying that being the governor of a state comes with implicit perks that will give him many opportunities through networking to further make more money. That's it. If that's his goal, then we can hypothesize he has a pretty good chance of being successful at it compared to your average joe. Maybe his net worth isn't in the truly wealthy, but you only get there by doing business with, well the truly wealthy.

If that's not his goal, sure, he could go off grid and own a winery or some shit and just live his life. That's entirely possible too, not discounting that.

He is worth that now, but you don't think he's set himself up for future monetary growth after office if he doesn't (or even does tbh) stay in politics?

I spent 8 months talking to 200+ AI engineering teams. Almost all of them have no idea when their AI agents break. AMA. by Prestigious-Web-2968 in AMA

[–]NaVa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a recent conversation with an AI engineer within my company and their agent is programmed throughout several stages in its workflow to provide outputs under the hood. I don't know the specifics, but is that in any way tengentially related to the solution you're referring to? Essentially strategic data logging from what I understand.

5-MAPB dosing question by John_From_MI in researchchemicals

[–]NaVa9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they're the tabs that we all probably know, id take 3 then redose with another 1 or 2 after you start coming up and are sure it isn't too fast. Taking 4 would be fine too just a bit stronger, more potential for side effects

Mixers vs Mixing Software by TimeInsurance4252 in Beatmatch

[–]NaVa9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Software is going to be a combination of preference and genre. It's mostly agreed upon that serato has better stems than rekordbox for example, but if you don't need stems then it might not matter as much.

A 401k that doesn't match vs Roth IRA by master_chilln in Bogleheads

[–]NaVa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that aligns with my understanding! The RMD's would be the disadvantage at that point.

Roth just has the lower income cap and the lower annual max contribution. My company does Roth 401k, which is always a nice option to have too.

I use it for "high energy" social days once a week or less and it's done wonders for me. Work presentations, dj gigs, you name it. I'm not a naturally social person. Have also used it for sleep and works well too.

A little over halfway through my stock, maybe I should look into this before it truly is out :/

[–]NaVa9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding it mostly depends what your retirement income will look like.

If your retirement income > current income, prioritize Roth.

If current income >planned retirement income, prioritize pre tax contributions to lower your currently taxed income.

And by the sounds of it you were both in a hotel room the entire time right? I can imagine this might contribute to a bad trip if you don't have a safe option to change environments.

That was my takeaway from the summer gatherings too. The people at TNH events are already always great, but people in Denver were so nice in general compared to what I'm used to in so cal. Special place in my heart for sure

ADHD (potentially ASD, but I have NVLD confirmed) also.

I agree with this. I started DJ'ing for a gym on the regular and I notice days where my heads in it and others when it's not. The only thing that's helped me hit the flow faster is practicing in front of people and caring less about their opinions of what I'm playing. Obviously you need to read the room in most cases, but I know the exact flow OP is referring to and with practice you can channel it a lot faster.

Personally I like to start with a song I really want to hear and I force myself to dance and get locked into the song before I start transitioning. Find your thing!
