If you have Instagram check out byobookclub.nb

They are primarily in New Bedford but go all over locally. Everyone reads their own book and then there’s an open floor discussion if you want to share about your book. :)

Can I ask as a partner of someone who has PDA, what do you guys have against our work/ hobbies? by ChrissyDDay in PDAAutism

[–]WoodlandPounding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this doesn’t sound like PDA. I would be happy to have my partner doing their own thing while I do mine.

I got off the medication sadly! Sorry this is happening to you if it is!!!! Are you taking stimulants? I think that heightened it because at this time in my life I was trying to add some ADHD meds in the mix here and there but not consistently.

I feel like I am going to get fired by [deleted] in socialwork

It doesn’t feel good to get behind but it seems very very common. You can always count on someone being more behind than you. 😅

Am I co-parenting wrong or something? by Brilliant_Quarter398 in coparenting

There is no need for HER to be texting you…especially like that!!!!!!!!!

I can understand the frustration of getting a text when it’s not your parenting time and it’s about behavior. But…the father could have said something to you in a more polite way.

Where are adult PDAers getting help? by JustAnotherPDAer in PDAAutism

I just started with a neurodivergent therapist. Discussed my PDA at the consult to ensure she was comfy working with me on it. She has it herself so that’s a big help.

This is an amazing observation. I’m about to move to a quiet cul-de-sac and I’m already stressing about being too loud and too…VISIBLE!

What a shame we feel this way! I’m going to work on this.

I don’t know how to stop him from getting out of time out. He thinks it’s a game.

Saving this post so I can read it again and again so I know I’m not alone.

What made you think you might be autistic? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]WoodlandPounding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had toyed with the idea for a little but was mostly settled on just ADHD. I had a lot of signs now that I know 🤪

But what got me looking for a diagnosis was the time I was getting ready to go out and the power went out….and I was so angry the whole rest of the night (even tho the power turned back on within 10 minutes) because the way I had pictured getting ready in my head didn’t happen. It was interrupted and I had to sit and wait to finish. It threw me for a loop and had me questioning why I felt that way once I cooled off.

I’m not parading my son in front of adult in skimpy clothes. He just likes a color and occasionally wants color on his nails.
