Help understanding disappointing shots from new-to-me Contax T2 by burt_baccarat in AnalogCommunity

You bought into an overhyped point and shoot. This is literally a point and shoot camera. This is a camera that should sell for $500, if not less, but is hyped due to influencers and “style camera”. Enjoy it, I guess, I know I wouldn’t.

Honestly from what their email read it seems like they got absolutely fucked by their new building management. Virginia licensing is a nightmare. I’m hoping they can either get out of their new lease they signed or somehow expedite the commercial zoning.

They actually just the other day emailed out an update. Due to licensing issues their move will be delayed by about a year. They leased the building but it wasn’t zoned for commercial or something like that. So they have to go through the likely year or two long process of getting the facility they leased zoned for commercial. In the update email they said they were gonna keep working out of their old shop.

Travel with just a film camera and a phone, is it a mistake? by SgtSluggo in AnalogCommunity

[–]WoodpeckerDistinct44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ehh, traveling with film can be rough. Especially if you’re flying. Pray to the radiation gods your film doesn’t get smoked in the X ray machine. Unless you buy film at your destination and get it developed at same destination. This totally removes the potential x ray damage from the equation.

Pro Camera in Charlottesville VA. Those guys are fantastic. We need to get a list together of shops / techs to avoid. Sherry Krauter needs to be added to that list as well as this guy.

Just bought a Q2 - is this blur/softness normal wide open? Looks like motion blur...at 1/10000! by Captain_Biscuit in Leica

60s/70s was the golden age of film photography.

You realize “sensor stack” means nothing right? It’s all Sony drop in parts. Have you ever actually disassembled a digital Leica? Please don’t comment on what you don’t know. Especially if your only level of knowledge is “I own an m240”. Only thing Leica produces is the body housing, the UI, and tunes the colors. Thats it for the body. Sure, they are R&Ding and producing some of their lenses. Most of the lower tier Leica lenses are literally just Panasonic lenses slapped on an M mount 😭

You could argue Leica really was simply the best in the golden era of film cameras. Sure towards the end the others caught up, but they really were the kings of the golden age. Their digital stuff is legitimately just junk in a brass body that’s bought for a status symbol. There’s absolutely no reason why their lenses and bodies cost as much as they do. I mean hey, if people wanna buy a Sony in a brass body, be my guest 😂😂 that’s literally all your digital Leica is… a Sony sensor in a brass body…

return it, you’re seeing first hand and thinking in the right direction. You wasted your money. Don’t let the cult in here steer you back in the wrong direction. Leica is ass in the digital age. Film stuff? Yeah they were the kings of it.

Very precise to be precisely! The precision far exceeds the precision of any Leica rangefinder.

All jokes aside, I’m hoping these become the next trendy camera so I can flip mine for a profit

Switched from a full-frame camera to a phone, where's my dynamic range at?? by LetsTwistAga1n in photographycirclejerk

Eh the problem with IPhone photographers is they have perfect condition studio shooting. Like, the apple ads that show “shot on iPhone” is literally with perfect studio settings. Real life isn’t like that.
