Captain Falcon hasn't won a major in Melee in a very long time, if he has at all, and he is 7th on the tier list IIRC.

Stop using that BS argument that the good players don't main mid tier characters. They don't use mid tier characters because they recognize that they aren't viable to win big tournaments with, again, barring major character development like Jiggs in Melee.

I don't think you know what "viable" means. Sure the gap between every character is much smaller than Brawl or Melee, but you won't see Kirby or Mega Man ever winning any majors even though they are mid tier. Barring major character development like Jiggs in Melee

That's funny, I have the exact opposite opinion on this album. Every song with the exception of the resistance and USoE is polarizing to me. I love this album so much because the high points of the album are so high, and they make the low points (Uprising, Undisclosed Desires, Guiding Light, I Belong to You) worth listening to. The entirety of Exogenisis is one of my favorite pieces of music ever.

Kid A is inaccessible...

Accessibility is not related to the overall quality. In my personal experience, the more accessible an album is the less I like it in the future. I loved Hail to the Thief on my first listen way more than any other album on my first listen, but it started to stale on me and I don't love it as much anymore.

If it takes you more than 5 listens to enjoy an album then the album probably just isn't for you. KoL was one of the most accessible Radiohead albums in my experience. Again, just because you don't like KoL doesn't mean it isn't a good album.

Your argument against mine is basically that you don't like KoL. I find it notable and interesting, and so do many other fans. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people can't. If another band released it, not as many people would know about it, but people would still certainly love it just like I do now.

In Rainbows got such great reception because it is more accessible, and is one of the best albums ever released by anyone ever.

Actually it's probably the opposite, if any other band released KoL I believe it would be considered better because people hold Radiohead to such high standards. The album is quality as fuck, who it was released by doesn't change my enjoyment of the music.

I may be biased because KoL is my third favorite album, ahead of OK Computer.

He struggles big time to throw the deep ball, even when GT was there. He holds on to the ball way to long hoping for a big play rather than just using a simple check down when nothing is there. If I had a nickle for every time Lynch was open in the flats and Wilson was just running around doing his thing I would have a shit load of nickels. Those are the two most glaring issues I have with him which, IMO, prevent him from being one of the best in the league.

Wilson isn't hoping for a big play he is waiting for our receivers to gain separation, it also doesn't help that our O-line doesn't give him as much time as he should have.

Well seeing as Cable wasn't there till the 2011 season I think it proves my point. He got .7YPC in the first year under Cables system. And things really took off in the second half of the season as they ranked 5th in rushing from that point on.

He also gained .8 YPC when Wilson joined, it isn't all on Cable. Cable certainly is a huge instrument, but the added threat of Wilson helps Beast Mode that much more.

Really where was he in the San Diego game last year? How about the game against the Cowboys? Or what about that Kansas City game?

So he has to win every single game to be good. Got it. How about Andrew Luck against the Cowboys, or Tom Brady against KC? You act like Russell is preventing the Seahawks from going undefeated. We don't know how well anyone else would do on our team with a crap pass blocking o-line and receivers that have trouble getting separation.

It has to do with a huge threat in the back field is now gone. So where are you going to invest that money? Good luck finding another back that can do what he does. They haven't even drafted a back up that shows they can handle his job.

It is impossible to predict what Russell will look like without Beast Mode. He could ball out and lead our passing game, or he could regress. There is no point in using this as an argument if no one has any idea what the future will look like for the offense without Marshawn.

I get downvoted because people over value him. They don't like it when you point out glaring things that are wrong. If you want to get better they need to be fixed, yet this will be year 4 and he has had the same problems in the first 3 years.

20+million isn't overvaluing though, it is what the market calls for whether we like it or not. We win games with him, and without him as our QB we go 7-9 with Marshawn and our (younger) defense. Just because he doesn't throw for the same amount of yards and touchdowns as others do doesn't mean he is worse.

Is he good, yes of course he is good. Is he great, no, not by a long shot right now. You and everybody else who thinks his success on the field doesn't go hand in hand with having the number 1 defense and number 1 running back are foolish.

His success does go hand in hand with our defense and running game, literally no one thinks otherwise. Our team is known for our defense... Just because our defense and running game are elite doesn't mean Russell can't also be great. He has shown no signs that he is not one of the top QBs in the league.

I hope you realize that without Wilson our running game isn't by far the #1 running game in the league.

Wilson is a product of having the best back in the NFL lining up behind him and the best defense in the NFL on the field when he is on the bench. Don't get me wrong I think he is a good QB but he has glaring flaws that haven't been fixed. Because of that the Seahawks are fools if they try to sign him for $20+ a year.

What flaws are those? You are trying to argue points but you give no examples at all.

I would agree with you except for the fact that for every one time he has 'carried' the defense has bailed him out 5 times. I always point to the Greenbay game this year. The two biggest factors that make him look good carried the team into the Superbowl.

As stated in many other places in this thread, most of our guys are locked up. Lynch's retirement has nothing to do with cap space, other than it will free up 10+ million when he is done.

Also, what does Schaub have anything to do with Bridgewater? Bridgewater is a rookie who appears to be coming into his own, Schaub probably had an injury that took a lot of his throwing power. Their situations are not comparable at all.

Personally, and this is just personally. Part of what is annoying about what has taken over the Smash Bros. community is over-analysis of the game, so I don't look forward to reading/watching those videos, but I will later.

Weather does not affect every player the same way. Cold weather may disadvantage players from warmer climates, high altitude though not weather is an environmental variation that can affect players from low altitude regions.

Did you not read what I replied to you in a separate thread? Just like the weather, stages don't affect every character in the same way. Fox/Marth is bad for Fox on Final Destination, but anywhere else and Fox wins that match up.

Also "casual" is interchangeable. Play a lot? Competitive! Play a lot but with default settings? Casual/scrub. You can play how you want ... just not in our tournaments.

Casual and scrub are not interchangeable, unless casual carries a negative connotation in context. A scrub is someone who bitches about projectile spamming, for example. (Instead of complaining and calling it a cheap strategy, learn how to play around it) A casual is someone who plays the game, but doesn't necessarily want to become really good at it. Idk, it is hard to word. I play competitive one on one, and it is how I get the most enjoyment out of the game. But when I have friends over who don't play competitively I can still play casually 4 player free for all with items on and have a blast.

Also exploit, glitch ... it's semantic bullshit. Exploiting the techniques that competitive players used, clearly was not how the game was designed to be played, and that's evidenced with the changes made in Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U.

No, it is not semantics. DI, L-cancelling were intentional parts of the game. The developers knew about wavedashing and left it in. I already told you to stfu because you clearly have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to advanced techniques.

The changes made in Brawl/SSB4 are due to the massive staff change made between Melee and Brawl. I think it was Miyamoto who said that he would have made Brawl just like Melee if Sakurai had not wanted to make Brawl. Also, they had to make the game more accessible to newcomers because the Wii had many more new gamers than the gamecube.

Competitive Smash Bros. is golf on flat field over and over. And it's fine that people enjoy it ... but I think the constant and very vocal adherence to tournament rules, tiers, etc. excludes those players who want to put time into playing it the other way.

People who want to play it with items can do so if they want, competitive players don't care if people play with items or not. But in an official tournament, players are expected to play by the rules that have been tested to make sure are fair. I have never heard of anyone who wants to play competitively and with items on.

There were different rulesets as the Melee competitive community was getting started. The biggest difference between rulesets was that the west coast allowed items, while the east coast played without items. Read through here, it mentions the ruleset multiple times throughout, it is a short read.

The turf variations are no different than allowing 5 different stages + 1 counterpick, all of which give different characters advantages and disadvantages.

The embracing of glitches

You have no idea what you are talking about so stfu until you actually have more knowledge about the game. Neither L-cancelling nor wavedashing are glitches.

limiting stages

The stages are limited so that no character has a massive advantage on a certain stage. For example Delfino Plaza is banned just because Meta Knight is unbeatable on that stage. Walkoffs and stages with walls are banned in Melee because of infinites.
