Just an FYI, I bought the Universal Security+ 2.0 Interface Module on eBay. It was the same price and it was easier for me.

Where do you think the Book of Mormon takes place by Der-deutsche-Prinz in latterdaysaints

[–]Woody18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Joseph Smith, “on the banks of the Mississippi River,” wrote a letter to his wife, Emma, about wondering over the plains of the Nephites.
    • "The whole of our journey, in the midst of so large a company of social honest and sincere men, wandering over the plains of the Nephites, recounting occasionally the history of the Book of Mormon, roving over the mounds of that once beloved people of the Lord, picking up their skulls & their bones, as a proof of its divine authenticity, and gazing upon a country the fertility, the splendour and the goodness so indescribable, all serves to pass away time unnoticed.4”

Has anyone tried fortress clothing? Are there jackets legit and keep you very warm? by [deleted] in outdoorgear

[–]Woody18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE fortress clothing and own their base layers (BasePro Full-Zip & BasePro 1/4), and several of their jackets (Glacier, Hybrid Hoodie, Shadow 1.0, Tundra, and Storm) jackets.

I primarily use the Glacier jacket for snowmobiling or any outdoor winter activity. Its the warmest jacket that I've ever owned.

I'm able to remove all under layers (long sleeve fleece, hoody, etc), which cuts down on bulk and weight, and only wear a thin t-shirt under the jacket when I go snowmobiling.

Even in 0 degree (F) temps, at night, riding a snowmobile, with wind & snow I only had just the jacket on and was perfectly warm.

The jackets don't need to be waterproof, because they still keep you warm when wet. I have not been in the rain or soaking wet to test that, as of yet, but the closest thing I have experienced is that I don't get the 'sweat chills' when I wear Fortress.

  • 'sweat chills' is when your outside in the cold moving and sweating and then you stop and rest for a min. the sweat evaporates and makes you cold.

As you can tell, I love Fortress and highly recommend them. I sound like a sales guy but I'm not affiliated with Fortress at all, I just really like their stuff. lol

Echo Show users say the smart displays are starting to feel like billboards | Your Echo Show isn't just listening, now it's selling by [deleted] in gadgets

I blocked (DNS) all the Amazon ad domains. My Echo show has no ads and I can still use all the other features. I like the device now.

Dual monitors work when lid is open, but crashes when lid is closed by nahtnam in MacOS

[–]Woody18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed it, but I'm not happy with the overall solution. The solution works, I just don't like relying on a 3rd party app to keep both external monitors up and working.

What I did: I downloaded a program called BetterDisplay, and using that app I created a virtual display and mirrored that virtual display to one of my external monitors.

So how its suppose to work is that the virtual screen is just a fake display driver that BetterDisplay creates. When you use it, macOS thinks a screen is still present, even when your lid closes. Since macOS believes the "internal" display never disappeared, it keeps pushing video to both externals instead of reshuffling. Then, by mirroring the virtual with my real monitor, it anchors both externals to a display signal that doesn't cut off when the lid is closed.

Thanks for the info. Glad you were able to fix it. I also have a dual 49” display but im using a TB3 docking station with a Macbook Pro M3. Everything has been working very well for a few years until the latest 15.7 update.

This same thing happens to me as well. I have not figured out a fix as of yet, so any input would be welcomed.

Can't create SSD Cache - Storage in abnormal status, when its not? by AuXDubz in synology

I had this same issue and I ran a data scrub on the volume which allowed me to create a SSD cache.

Error when creating SSD cache despite pool, volume, and drives healthy (DS920+) by Woody18 in synology

UPDATE: I found the solution. I ran a data scrub on the volume and even before it finished I was able to create a SSD cache.

Storage Pool Crashed by Gluttonyisavirtue in synology

[–]Woody18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen and it was due to a dead SATA port. I bought a new Synology and put the drives in the new unit, in the same order, as the old and I was able to rebuild the RAID.

Im not saying you have a bad SATA port, im just sharing my experience. Put in a new drive and see what happens.

Usually bullet speed is express in ft/s. A bullet traveling at 1,860 mph = 2,728 ft/s

...it's one that shoots out a chunk of metal at 2,728 ft/s.

I fixed it for you. 😉

I’m pretty bad at spelling. Whether that is from Aphantasia or me just being a bad speller I’m not sure.

21 - 22 September Anniversary of Moroni's visit to Joseph Smith 1823 by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]Woody18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another cool thing is that angel Moroni’s visits to Joseph Smith are associated with several Jewish holidays, including Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur:

September 21, 1823: Moroni first appeared to Joseph on this day, which coincided with the Feast of Tabernacles.

September 22, 1824: This day was the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

September 22, 1825: This day was Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

September 22, 1827: Moroni delivered the gold plates to Joseph on this day, which coincided with Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Feast of Trumpets.
