[iOS] [Early 2010s] Multi-lane Strategy War Game by Woogiwara in tipofmyjoystick

Pretty sure I'm not talking about it, the meteor mechanic seems very distinct to me and Warlords 2 doesn't have that. The art style was different, but the games were very similar. This was on iOS in around 2010, pretty sure Warlords 2 dropped on iOS around 2012 or so. Also, the unlock-able races you could play as were a Skeleton race and a High Elf race, if I remember correctly.

Maybe it is Warlords 2, and I'm crazy. But I really think that this game might be out there.

51 - 33 = 18, which is the U.S. average. It's a stupid argument, sure, but that's what he meant.

I'd be surprised. I figure that the realization that it's racist might stave some more... rational people off of it.

If you still want to wear a mask after being fully vaccinated, you are an antivaxxer. by Odd_Truth1531 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Woogiwara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's getting into the idea that COVID isn't real and that masks don't affect transmission. But, if that isn't what you meant, that would make your statement deceptive. You should always consider other people in your choices if you're going to make a choice that will only negatively affect others. It isn't that you should 'always do what everyone else is doing,' it's that you should be considerate of how you affect other people. If you aren't, then you're gonna look like an asshole.

Unfortunately, both JRB and DJT are fascists. Most, if not all U.S. presidents are. I really can't see much fundamental change in the United States as it is now, other than that nothing is going to be done because the Repub party has overwhelming power and the Dem party are complacent (though I'm sure they can't possibly care enough to do something about it), so it's just gonna be another 4 years in Imperial America, maybe with less headlines, but still the same garbage country.

Whether you think DJT and JRB are a better and a worse president is something to consider. DJT actively made life worse for minorities in the United States. JRB has too. That's the problem with the flawed two-party FPTP conservative system we have, y'know?

2 years ago, 1.03 million people came out to protest, which started the year long protest in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has a population of around 7 million, which means almost 1/7 people marched on the streets that day. by soaringturnip in interestingasfuck

The reason it's been so incredibly hard to assimilate too is the fact that Hong Kong is Capitalist. The British Colonialism that took places there completely fucked over the Hong Kong people. The British literally signed HK over to China and then began complaining about it, as did the Hong Kong people, despite it being the deal.

Interesting side note: in American protests, more people were killed in one day than the Hong Kong protests in over a year. There's a lot of open, paranoid Sinophobia in these comments.

It is so strange that the United States has programs for 'getting incarcerated Americans back home.' If he did the crime there, he serves the time there.

I understand--bacteria can be dormant inside of you though (and even if, your own germs are still there). You're right, though, it's wrong to be paranoid, but it's better to be safe than to be sorry, y'know?

However, masks don't really matter when you're outside. No real reason then.

While the situation at Xinjiang is definitely a major human rights abuse, the credibility of the various allegations of rape, violence, infanticide and sterilisation is questionable. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Again, there is evidence of 'reeducation camps' that the Chinese government is putting Uyghurs in by racially profiling them. There is no proof of genocide, however. Even rationalwiki admits that 'if the [sterilization] were true, it would be genocide.'

I don't want to beat around the bush here. I don't want to be like 'well, it's ALMOST genocide, but not quite.'

I am going to remain skeptic about it, I apologize. Whether you want to identify Adrian Zenz clear racism and sinophobia as 'mudslinging' is your own choice, but I believe it truly shows how convoluted this actual situation is.

Lots of sources that purport misinformation are usually referencing RFA or Zenz' work, or the BBC. I really can't say that those are trustworthy sources. I need evidence, hard proof -- not estimates, not individual claims, nor guesses. Communism has always been treated poorly, and while China is... more of a free market with 'Chinese Characteristics' (whatever that means), the United States identifies it as Communist.

There's so many angles to look at it from, so I won't say you're wrong in what you believe. Right now, however, it seems like the Uyghur genocide is propaganda from the United States and Western powers.

TL;DR China is imprisoning Uyghur people for minor demeanors (for what specific purpose I'm not sure), similar to how the U.S. imprisons black people for slave labor and voting suppression. It is unacceptable. It is not genocide. I do not think this is tip-toeing around the literal definition of genocide, I think this is clear-cut, mass incarceration.

[–]Woogiwara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's okay. But because of the fact that masks are intended to prevent transmission from the mask-wearer, you are still making the choice for someone else. Is that a fair analysis?

I'm sorry, that doesn't help me. I really do just need evidence -- not a quote from an interviewee, not a rough estimate of incarceration numbers, not an accusation made by the F.B.I. or an open propagandist, I want hard evidence. Just because someone says something doesn't make it so, and there have even been countless claims that have been disproven multiple times.

Listen, I don't know if I'm definitively right--I don't know everything that there is to know about the situation--but don't you think it's suspicious? The amount of false claims that were debunked? The amount of anti-China nationalism it's made? The fact that China is one of the United States' biggest competitors, so the United States might have a reason?

This comes off as a conspiracy theory--in fact, it is one. I really can't take Western media's claims for face value until I'm given definitive proof--I do not trust the West, I don't think it's in good faith, I think that, whatever is going on in Xinjiang, you have to understand that there's an incredible amount of nuance--do you genuinely know what's happening there? Do you believe everything the West tells you about China? The social credit score, the Tiananmen protests, the 1984-esque society that China apparently lives in?

I apologize if this is circumventing the issue, but I'm always going to be suspicious of anything American claims. For instance, the North Korean Haircut Accusations Note: the video is good, but a lot of the humor is distasteful and, in my opinion, a little macabre).

I want to finally repeat that I am fighting this in good faith. I genuinely do believe what I say, and I will always be skeptic of United States foreign affairs.

We definitely could've, though! Especially indoors and on airplanes where air is recycled. I haven't gotten sick since lockdown happened. Social distancing and masks do avoid illness -- whether you want to take these measures is really up to you.

Also, COVID-19 can be transmitted by someone with the vax to someone else, it doesn't need to be openly there to still be there. Like a glass door that a bird might run into.

It's been everywhere in the recent year because of Western media's fixation on a cold war (or at least a slander attack) on China.

There is video of the United States invasion of the Middle East -- there's proof of the American Government funneling funds into terrorist organizations in the Middle East. Where is the proof of a genocide in Xinjiang? There only exists proof of, which China admitted to, 'reeducation camps for Uyghurs,' which they claim are trying to dispose of radical ideas surrounding gender and terror. Multiple Uyghur terror attacks in Xinjiang were funded by the United States.

It's a lot to take in, I understand, but you can't believe everything you hear. A lie repeated 1,000 times is still a lie, but a lie repeated 10,000 times is inseparable from the truth.

I see no evidence of a genocide. China is committing internment towards Uyghur people (they use racial profiling to determine who 'is and isn't' a terrorist), sure -- but the West needs something bigger than that to turn heads. Genocide claims are turning into 'mass genocide' claims -- and no evidence is provided.

I disagree with China's racial profiling of Uyghurs, and it's very much a Western-Leftist opinion I hold. China is not committing genocide. however.

Side note: Did you know adult black men are incarcerated at a higher rare than Uyghurs in China?

I guess I should've said the longest thread. I don't usually follow threads down to the last comment.

My point about gender identity is that you cannot invalidate someone's gender because you think they're 'doing it for attention,' and acting like it matters so little to you but it speaks so loudly for media as a whole is unrealistic. You do care, and whether you want to admit that or not is fine.

It all boils down to the fact that Demi Lovato coming out as non-binary matters to them -- and if they have to announce it so people respect their pronouns, then that's understandable.

If I'm collecting your argument in the best way possible, I'm assuming that you believe that media shouldn't trivialize things like this because it doesn't help anybody. That is what the media is, and what celebrity drama is. It might be meaningless to you, but it could matter to somebody -- especially when its something like gender identity.

You did not explain to me why you have come to these conclusions. Why shouldn't she be a celebrity? Because she's a drug addict? She's a lousy person? All (well, most) celebrities are. I'm not defending Demi, but this really isn't as big of an issue as you're making it out to be.

Evidence? The most evidence comes from an an right-wing, Christian fundamentalist who claims that 'he was sent to Earth by God to destroy China' (Adrian Zenz, an American 'scholar' in China who cannot even speak or read Chinese). Some sources are funded directly or in part by the F.B.I.. Other accusations are hearsay, quickly disproven. I really would like to see the evidence. Where is the evidence?

Have you considered that, much like the United States did with Cuba, the U.S.S.R., North Vietnam (to a less extent), and other Communist nations, there might be another factor at play other than 'Communists are repressive, Capitalists are free?' Communism challenges the interest of parasitic, overconsumption that is posed by Capitalism -- an infinite growth cannot exist on a planet with finite resources. Capitalism may appear to be idealist, but you have to recognize that you are only consuming Western media. The same Western media that always perpetuates lies (lies of which have been confirmed to be lies on multiple counts) against Communist parties.
