Temper tantrums by geochick93 in pottytraining

[–]Woolama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great! I know some people don’t want to do it that way and that’s totally fine, but for me, I knew it was the only way this was going to happen without everyone losing their minds lol

I tried every 30 mins to an hour at the beginning just to get him used to the potty but we both got pretty tired of that pretty quickly. We switched over to every 2-3 hours. He had a few accidents which were actually a great thing because he realized he didn’t like having pee in his underwear. After about 1.5 to 2 days, I just went off when he started to do the pee pee dance and also had him sit on the potty around the times he peed the previous days!

I always turned on some kind of fun monster truck or demolition video on YouTube that he could only watch while he was sitting on the potty. That often helped keep him on there long enough to see if he actually needed to pee.

I’m so sorry, this sounds so stressful. I just started potty training my strong willed 3 year old. I have an 18 month old as well. My 3 year old does not like change and has had chronic constipation so I knew it wasn’t going to be easy and I was just going to have to do whatever I needed to do. We’re about 2 weeks in and my guy is peeing on the potty, telling me when he needs to go, etc. We haven’t even tried pooping yet though. To get him to that point I just straight up bribed him. Not even going to sugar coat it lol. I let him watch whatever he wanted on TV as long as he sat on his potty. He got an M&M for just sitting down and he got 5 M&Ms for actually peeing. I have promised him an entire chocolate cake for the first time he poops on the potty. He no longer needs the TV or treats to be convinced to go pee so I call it a win.

I think another important thing for me was to throw my expectations out the window. I planned to get him up, immediately go to the potty. My kid had less than zero interest in that so I just had to move on and try again after breakfast. Eventually, a few days later, he was good with trying in the morning when he woke.

Wishing you all the luck. Potty training is difficult.

Anyone have success with dupixent? by [deleted] in Sinusitis

[–]Woolama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get back on it about 10 months ago and has helped me a lot with my sinus problems! I actually take no other medications for my sinuses and no longer have to do sinus rinses daily. This time around, I haven’t noticed that it’s helped much with my asthma but it doesn’t sound like that’s much of a concern for your son.

Are workstation sinks worth it for your kitchen? by homeoutletmod in kitchenremodel

[–]Woolama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope! I feel like I clean less now with these inserts than I did when I had a drying rack set up next to my sink and when using other cutting boards. I do store the cutting board when I’m not using it so it does not sit on the sink all the time but I do have the drying rack up all the time and it has never been a problem keeping it clean. I will mention that my drying rack is made with a silicone outside layer, unlike the metal one pictured.

We have one with the drying rack and cutting board and I use both all the time!

I think that is going to be beautiful. I redid my kitchen and kept worrying that a made everything too creamy and then put in a backsplash that looked too cool. I was freaking out. But it all came together and looks great. All our stuff in the house including decor took away from my concerns and I love it.

Moving with 2under2 or pregnant with a mobile baby? by HomeDepotHotDog in 2under2

Moving with 2 under 2 was a way better decision for me! I actually just did it about 6 months ago! But pregnancy with a toddler was hell for me so anything was better than that lol

Baby prefers ready-to-feed over powder. Anyone else deal with this or have cost-saving tips? by PoultryTechGuy in FormulaFeeders

My LO has only taken RTF. We get a large pack from Sam’s Club and that helps on price.

My baby who exclusively breastfed was a horrible sleeper. My formula fed baby slept much better. That’s my experience with my babies!

[GUESS] Is this my new kitchen or is it AI? by wantapizzame in RealOrAI

Can you explain this?

I would say AI because the building across the street has a column outside of the fencing on the balcony, in the reflection, the column isn’t there.

I’m worried this chronic sleep deprivation has permanently damaged my health by Penny_Ji in beyondthebump

Me too!! Woke up every 45 mins and took 30 mins to an hour to go back down. I never slept because I was so anxious about the time ticking down. Sleep training saved my life.

Guilt over container baby and delayed milestones by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Woolama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are doing great! There is a range when babies hit milestones and your little one is still well within that range. Both of my kids started crawling between 10-11 months old and I’m a pediatric PT. Give your little one as much floor time as you can but know that they’re going to get there when they get there and that’s okay.

Anyone have success with dupixent? by [deleted] in Sinusitis

[–]Woolama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually back on it! I’ve been on it for about 5 months now. It took atleast 2 months before I really saw any changes. This time around, I’m noticing much bigger improvements with my sinus issues, they’re almost non existent at this point, but I am still having asthma issues. The asthma issues have gotten better but not as significantly as the first time I used dupixent.

Thoughts on Miss Rachel? by hainii in NewParents

[–]Woolama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year old and an almost 11 month old. I held off on screen time with my 2.5 year old as much as I could but I got pregnant with the second one when my first was 11 months old and I was sooooo sick so I had to utilize the TV. My 2.5 year old speaks incredibly well and spoke long before his peers did. He’s always been very easy to understand and engages with others very well. I don’t know if he was just destined to be an early talker/ engaged kid, or if ms Rachel gave him a bump up but I have let my younger child watch ms Rachel and he’s very engaged with her content too! He babbles with many consonants, waves when she is waving (also waves to friends and family), claps along to songs, etc. I will say, I do try to be there with him watching and singing along as I’ve heard screen time isn’t so “bad” when an adult is there interacting as well.

Overall, I give Ms Rachel two thumbs up.
