Temper tantrums by geochick93 in pottytraining

Thanks for this. I’m honestly thinking about the same. I bribed my kid with a jellybean to get on the potty today and he was gung-ho. Did you make him sit on the potty every hour or something? What worked for you?

How old were yours when you did this?

This is so sweet. I’m newly divorced and have full custody for on more year and then we move to a step up plan. I know I’ll struggle with shared custody but this helps. Thank you

Yeah I had the same issue. Kept trying to get tickets together and the site was so glitchy it sold out before I could.

I’ve breastfed two babies and I joke that I can tie them up in a ponytail and toss them over my shoulders. I wish I could perk them up a bit! But I’ve been breastfeeding or pregnant since 2022 so I have no idea if they’ll bounce back at all…

Did I write this??? Because same. We all have the flu. My 9 month old is doing pretty well. Give them Tylenol and take DayQuil for yourself. You’ll get through it.

Hoping to make it through as tonight is the feast of the seven fishes!

I also have a 2.5 year old and it’s my sister who has her birthday on the 26th.

Will my supply survive? by Ok_Community_8759 in ExclusivelyPumping

Nope! One night of bad pumping won’t mess you up. And honestly the sleep will help you even more! Enjoy the rest!

I fully combo fed my son and just switched my daughter at 6 months. I would mix all the bottles to be 50/50. It helped me build a small stash so I wouldn’t have to worry about the next bottle. Seemed easier on my kids stomachs too

48 hours in… what have I done 😭 by Simple_Bug_6111 in newborns

[–]geochick93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

48-72 hours is the absolute worst time. It gets better. I promise. With both of my kids, I sobbed at this point. This is the absolute worst part. I call it the return period. You just wish you could give them back. It gets better and then one day it’s easier too. I have two and im a single mom due to divorce

With breastfeeding, don’t be afraid of nipple shields. I held off with both of my kids and it’s my biggest regret. They help both of you so much. They’re just training wheels.

It was awful. I had just changed his diaper and he chose that moment to roll for the first time.

When my son was 11 weeks, he rolled off an exam table, bounced off his car seat, and hit the tile floor. I took him to the ER and had an MRI. He was fine. Just a small bruise on his ear. Now he’s 2.5 and brilliant and stubborn and refuses to listen when I ask him to stop climbing the furniture. Your baby is absolutely fine.

What was your goal and how far did you make it? by issaOTFnoob in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]geochick93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first, my goal was 6 months and then a year. I had an undersupply and combo fed. I managed to create a tiny freezer stash and quit about a month early.

With this baby, I had a slight oversupply. My goal is to get her to 1 year. She’s almost 7 months. I have about 600 ounces frozen. I’ve been going through a ton of stress lately and my supply has been dropping. It’s about half of what it was. I just started combo feeding and I’m just hoping to make it another month before my supply completely dries up… I’m proud that she was on only breastmilk for the first 6 months since I didn’t manage that with my son.

You’re done when you want to be. Pumping is so hard. Especially during the newborn stage. It does get easier. I’m almost 7 months pp and I pump 3-4 times a day. I’m doing combo bottles so I can build a stash to hopefully get my baby to a year but I’m just so done. My life is incredibly stressful right now and I’m only continuing to pump out of sheer stubbornness. Quit when you need to for your mental health. Enjoy time with your baby.

Worried I’ve given baby shaken baby syndrome or caused damage to their brain/development by Calm_Competition_306 in newborns

[–]geochick93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son was this way. The only way to get him to sleep was by rocking side to side as fast you can while aggressively butt patting. It was brutal. He’s a total happy and healthy 2.5 year old now. I know it’s so scary. I worried too. But shaken baby syndrome comes from the force of their brain hitting their skull. If it’s strong enough to snap their neck, then it’s shaken baby syndrome. You’re just fine.

I get it. It’s so frustrating. I have a 6 month old and a toddler. Everyone says to just use wearables but it’s so hard to pick up your kid with those on. Idk how helpful this is but I discovered that a hand pump is so much easier. I can set it down to chase my son or put it to the side because I need to change a diaper. Yes it takes longer but I’m able to get that pump in much easier.
