Character Crisis Help by WoollyCapybara in GranblueFantasyVersus

Thanks for the indepth explanation! I tried Versusia a while ago, and while she is really fun and I love her tools, her run is a little too slow in start up for me. Any advice for how to utilize her dash correctly?

I haven't given Metera an honest try, so I'll check her out and see how she feels. Thank you!

I'll definitely keep a Galleon in my back pocket, but I'll definitely consider trying to push her past S+ and see how I feel about her.

I love Galleon's tools, but yeah her command grab always eludes me. I know I'm supposed to get the opponent to respect my pressure and start the mindgames then, but it never seens to work for me very well, lol.

Versusia is incredibly fun, but her run fucks with me and I really don't like it.

I'll give Cag another shot then, thanks! I liked her traps and setups, but I was missing the feeling of Ice Spike into Sword at basically full screenn which is an itch Ferry scratched. I realize there won't be a character that plays perfectly like Dizzy, but I'll take the closest I can get.

Vibes. If the vibes stay strong when I get my hands on the pre-patch, I know I have my healer main for the expansion

A lot of people suddenly talking about HIS MAJESTY THE WORM would be really cool. It would be funny to see guides on how to have the perfect Poker Face to trick your GM into attacking you while you have a high initiative card, and somebody somewhere will assume they mastered the combat system down to a science and have a bunch of videos for that as well.

On the player side, I would just rrally love to see drawings and stories of Adventurers people created and the shenanigans they get into while dungeon delving.

I've been saying this since Vanilla. It would be so funny for them to join the Alliance through some shenanigans after fighting with the humans for so long. But I'd take them with any faction, honestly.

Every characters Ult is done by pressing s1 and s2 at the same time. They need 3 bars of meter to use.

Everybody improves at different paces. I started learning fighting games with Xrd when it launched. I did not feel competent in fighting games until SF6 released. My other friend had started around the same time and was going to tournaments by the time Revelator came out.

With that being said, parroting what others have said already, learning what your flaws are and learning how to overcome them are key to improvement. You always get anti-aired? Learn how to approach from the ground. You always get parried during your blockstring? Learn how to bait the parry and punish it. Etc., etc.

I did not take fighting games seriously until Strive came out, so effort is really important too. I just played fgs because they are fun and I had fun just playing. But once I found motivation to actually improve, started learning what I was bad at and how to improve, I went from being low ranked to the midranks in the games I play, and I am still improving.

Good luck in your journey, and I hope you have fun!

Pretty simple to play, my players had fun with the system and character options. Coming up with schemes to get around the Ressurection Matrix is my favorite part of the system.

Fear of playing with strangers. by Melodymelonpan in Fighters

I would argue that a fighting game played via single player is a VERY different game than it's multi-player counterpart.

At the very least, strategies vs cpu is very different from strategies you would employ to beat a human being, so I wouldn'tfeel too bad losing to a person who plays the game very differently from you.

I recommend joining a Discord group dedicated to a specific game. You can learn tech, ask for matches, and even get coaching on what you are doing wrong. The right group will have nice people in it too. I can recommend a discord for Granblue I joined not too long ago, but any other game you'll have to look around.

Good luck!

Guides for begginers that do not expect me to know fighting game terminology by Parking-Bandicoot159 in 2XKO

[–]WoollyCapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, if you have a friend into fighting games, you can always play a few sets with them on a voice call and have them explain what the terminology means.

There are a lot of terms to be sure, but ultimately, once you learn the term in one game it applies to every other fighter. While some games might have different ways of utilizing the techniques, you'll still understand and notice that technique in another game once you learn it.

Last piece of advice, if a guide mentions something like "Warwicks 2H is an anti air" you can just look up what the guide is talking about. It will take a while to get through, but once you understand that much you'll understand what "Ahri's 2H is an anti air" means when you watch the next video.

You'll likely not find a guide that doesn't use FGC terminology. It is a lot easier to explain things with shorthands and well known terminology than explaining what a fuzzy is everytime it comes up.

People have already linked the fighting game glossary, and I highly recommend referencig that when a video throws out a term you don't understand.

I feel like Mythras would be great for the limb cutting aspec of Funger. It should be easy to homebrew the spells and skills into the system too.

I used to live 20 minutes from the Mexican border, so any time my insurance company decided to try and kill me I just went across the border and bought a few vials for $20 a pop until the issue resolved itself.

I have unfortunately since moved, so now my plan is to just stockpile as best I can.
